Instead of waking up in an unfamiliar house, I awoke in my hotel room. I was wrapped up in lavish sheets and white cotton duvet.

I set my feet on the floor and stretched, feeling fresh as a daisy. I opened the french doors that looked over a small balcony facing the ocean. A sweet breeze gave me chills.

The shower was rather imposing. The tile flooring in the bathroom was heated. I took my time getting ready and perused the emails on my tablet. The first one was a specified itinerary for the day, to which I would begin training Cliff. Things would be different since he wasn't a regular student. He knew more than most, and was already a valued team member to Lana's corporation. That must be why he got to stay in the hotel too. The next message was a generalized list of tips on training new students. And last, a personal message from Lana- I was supposed to meet Cliff in The Breakfast Nook at 9:00 o'clock. It was 8:50.

I got to the elevator and pushed the button to the lobby. When I exited the elevator I bumped into a man. Embarrassed, I looked up and met eyes with Cliff. His hair was damp as if he just got out of the shower. His cologne filled my lungs.

I laughed a little.

"Hey, I'm sorry, looks like you are right on time, though, Grasshopper." I teased.

"Hey now, don't let this teaching thing get to your head." He smiled.

We got to the Nook and ordered breakfast- chia fruit bowls, a side of crêpes, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Lana was paying.

"First on our list for the day. We will head over to the Marine Suite and unpack our things. From there I will show you all the tech and how to use it." I paused. "Properly"
He probably knew how it all worked, but he had never applied his knowledge. Maybe I did have something he didn't.
After breakfast, we took a small chartered boat to the island.
I was simply in awe as we walked up the path to what would be my new home. I withdrew the blue key and unlocked my new palace.
"Wow." I said, my voice bouncing off the bare walls.
"Not bad." I walked into the living room and dropped my things.
"Alrighty. Let's get started." Cliff said.

I placed my back pack on the coffee table in the living room and began unpacking the items.
"My transmitter. All you do is place your ring over the sensor, put in the date, and you will be sent there. Your ring has a unique magnetic code encrypted inside that will allow you to travel. Without it, data can not be stored of your travels and location. It's important that you have your currency bag at all times too. According to the date set in your transmitter, this bag will provide the currency you need for traveling. If you do not have proper currency, you will not be able to purchase food, clothing, shelter, etcetera." I explained.
"Does that mean I can buy whatever I want?" Cliff asked.
"Well the amount of money you receive could vary, but typically you get about $100. It goes a long way since you won't be traveling for extensive amounts of time. If something happens where you need more money, or you need help, there is a phone that will get you directly in touch with Lana. It will act as an ear piece, so it is important that you not let any other person see it, because they might think you are a dangerous alien from outer space." I laughed a little.
Cliff looked amused.
And of course your journal. There will be a set of questions to answer as a general, but then it's your job to write a detailed report of your location.
I crossed off the first line of itinerary.
1. Go through each tool and explain in-depth how they are used.
Check. I read the second one.
2. Bring student to practice location #zD507 and allow them to examine the area.
"Alright Cliff. Are you ready for your first lesson? Hopefully those classes did you good." I typed in the location #zD507 and we both placed our rings over the sensor.
