The Break-Up (a twilight fanfiction)

Chapter Three

BELLAS POV

I woke up with mascara all over my face. This is ridiculous. Edward is an asshole. I shouldn't have fallen asleep crying because of him. I got out of bed and washed my face. I put on my makeup and got dressed in a black dress and high heels.

I quietly left the bedroom and shut the door. I looked over my shoulder and my heart throbbed as I saw Edward asleep on the couch, bottles of beer scattered on the floor, his eyes red and puffy. I took a deep breath and walked out the front door. I drove to work struggling to stay calm. I work at an art gallery, so basically, I persuade rich people to blow money on painting. Right as I walked into the gallery, I saw my boss.

"Bella!" She cheered and then walked closer to me. "Oh Bella.." Irina, my boss, looked me up and down.

"You look like a mess.." Irina gasped. "Dear, what happened?"

"I broke up with Edward last night." I choked up a little as my eyes started to water.

"Oh honey, you don't need him.." She pulled me into a hug. "But.. I can't have you working like that."

"Wha-What?" A tear fell down my cheek.

"Go home and take the day off. It's okay." Irina  smiled and patted my shoulder.

"B-But-"

"No. I mean it. Not only for you, but you just seem distraught. Definitely not good for business.

I nodded my head, grabbed my bag, and left the building. I got into my car and sped off to my bestfriend's house. Alice has been my bestfriend ever since I met Edward. Inconveniently, Alice is Edward's sister. But, she knows him and she knows me. She will be able to tell me what to do.

Alice works at home. She runs a clothing line, but she just started so it is still fairly new. I knocked on her front door and waited for her to open it. She unlocked the door and it swung open. She had a wide smile on her face, which quickly dropped when she saw my appearance.

I wiped under my eyes, only to find mascara dripping.

"Bella! Oh my gosh! Come in-Come in!" She pulled me inside and sat me down on her bright white couch.

"What is going on?" She handed me a box of tissues and sat next to me.

"I broke up with Edward.." I sniffled and took the box of tissues.

"Huh? Why?" She burrowed her brows together.

"He was being rude and he cheated on me and I-I just don't think I can do it anymore! I mean- no one should be treated like that. B-but," I sobbed hysterically.

"I love him! Alice, I really do!" I covered my face.

"Oh, Bella. But, he cheated? How can you still love him?" Alice pulled me into a hug.

"I don't know. I don't know anything about it. I just- this all seems wrong!" I sighed.

"Well.. I would say in a perfect world, that you got back with him. But, he cheated. And if he truly loved you, he wouldn't have done that. Drunk or not. So now, you have to suck it up and be a big girl." Alice rubbed my back.

I wanted to scream. I wanted to run. But, this was the truth. He betrayed me. I have to make him pay.

"He won't leave. I asked him to leave the apartment but he refused. So..I guess I will need to find a way to force him out." I smirked a little, wiping my tears away. "Thank you, Alice." I smiled as I hugged her.

I hung out with Alice for the rest of the day, until Alice decided we need to go out. We got ready in our night attire, dresses and makeup, and we were ready to go.

"Alice, are you sure this is a good idea?" I sighed.

"Positive." She grinned and grabbed my arm.

I giggled as we got into the Uber car. The car dropped us off at the club. It was 10:45 PM. We got inside and took a seat at the bar.

"What are you thinking, Bella?" She asked as she glanced at the bartender.

"Hmm... shots?" I laughed and winked at her.

"For you, always!" Alice giggled and ordered 2 shots of vodka.

"3...2...1!"

We took the shot and grimaced. Oh man, did it burn. The burning left my throat eventually, causing me to stop cringing.

"Wooo!" Alice cheered and threw her arms up. I laughed and did it too.

"Hey, ladies." Two guys said behind us.

I turned around and looked at them. One had tan skin with short dark hair and honey brown eyes. The other had blond chin-length hair that curled a bit. He was pale with striking green eyes.

"Heeeyyy!" Alice smiled and looked the blonde up and down.

"I am Jasper Whitlock. Who, if I may ask, are you two beautiful ladies." He smirked and looked at Alice.

"I am Alice Cullen, and this is Bella Swan."

"Pleasure. This is my buddy, Jacob Black." I turned my gaze and met his gorgeous brown eyes.

"Hi." I smiled. Jacob sat next to me and Jasper sat next to Alice.

"Can I buy you a drink, beautiful?" Jacob asked me with a wink.

"Sure." I blushed. "Just a beer would be nice."

He ordered me a drink and turned to me.

"So, what is someone so gorgeous doing without a man by her side?" He took a swig of his beer and raised an eyebrow.

"Well... I like to be a little more wild and free.. you know?" I winked and took a sip of my drink.

"Oh, trust me, I know." He looked me up and down before winking as well.

Looks like it is time to have some fun. Goodbye Edward, hello..sweet..sweet freedom.
