Life took a unexpected turn for me. I remember it was just yesterday I was going to one of the best schools in the state and not only that, but I was living a lavish life in the hills. If only I knew my father scammed all of his employers  by taking all of the money they ever worked hard for, I would never treat the kids that weren't as rich as me as pieces of Sh*t. What can I say, I regret it all, But my father being sent to a maximum security prison, and packing up all of my things to be moved to the lowest income community was my biggest regret. "Ugh, there is no heat and the paint is peeling." My mom argued on the phone with the sales woman. After 2 minutes my mother realized the woman had hung up on her and she slammed the house phone on the glass table. I rubbed my mother's back soothingly. My little sister came out of her brand new room with a horrifying expression on her face. My mom turned around questioning what had happened to her. My sister told her that she saw a roach and that she refused to sleep in her room. My mom sighed and sunk in a seat rubbing her eyes. "Sabrina it's 7:00Am we have to go get settled in our new school so throw your backpack on and let's go. I said in a disgusted Manner. "Now Sabrina, and Elizabeth remember we live in a disturbing neighborhood so if anyone of color approaches you just wave to any police nearby because the person is probably trying to sell drugs to you or steal your belongings." My mother replied continuing to rub her eyes. I gave her my side eye and scoffed before throwing my backpack on and standing next to the crusted wooden front door for Sabrina. While walking to school Sabrina and I had a lot of eyes on us. When we turned the corner middle aged men whistled at us and call for us to get to know them. I felt terrified for my life but I didn't want all of the racism that escaped my mother's lips to get into my head. When we got to the high school there was a large sign that read Bronx High. As Sabrina and I walked in the school, everyone's conversations stopped and again everyone's eyes were  immediately on us. A Black boy from the back shouted out "Ooohhhhhhhh we got some sexy white girls" and the whole crowd that formed around us bursted out laughing and went back to what they were doing. Everyone but a group of girls. One of the girls approached us introducing herself. "Hi I'm Tanisha Moore, welcome to Bronx High." She said with a snotty tone. I reached out to shake her hand and she looked at it before turning around and mumbling something to her posse which made them snicker. She quickly started touching my hair and and asked me what type of bundles I wore. I couldn't help but look lost because I didn't have the slightest clue what bundles were. "Sis you are too white for me, but um it's your first day and you have a ass for a white girl so try out for the dance team because we're the only thing popping in this school." She announced while grinning with her head high she turned her head in Sabrina's direction and muttered something else to her friends but instead of snickering they laughed. One replied "She's probably a mute." And the rest continued on with their laughter. Tanisha looked back at me before purposely bumping into both me and Sabrina. I couldn't seem but feel Intimidated when her group looked at Sabrina and I up and down before purposely bumping into her again. I patted Sabrina's shoulder motioning her to keep on walking.
Later that day when I arrived home an exterminator was walking out I couldn't help but feel relief that there were no more roaches or any type of bugs. I laid in my bed and after a while I got a follow request on Instagram from Tanisha from the bottom of my heart I felt we could be friends......Or could we.
