Stan's POV:
~Two Months Later~ (A/N: I know, I know. Huge time skip, let it all out on me.)
I sighed, watching my breath turn into a cloud as I breathed out. I'd been bummed ever since Sparky ran away last month, though I don't see where he possibly could have gone, we lived in such a small town. I looked over at Kyle, his nose and cheeks had a pinkish tint to them, his lip trembling from the cold. I took my scarf off and shoved it toward him.
"Here," I smiled. "Take it."
"N-No, Stanley, you'll f-fre-freeze." He shuddered out pushing it away slightly.
"Hey, remember what I told you when we were eight?" I asked as he tilted his head. "I don't want you to die until I do, now take the scarf, please, I'll be fine, I promise you."
He hesitantly nodded and I wrapped the scarf around his neck loosely, pulling the hem up to his nose. He instantly closed his eyes as he took in the warmth and I smiled.
"Feel better?" I asked.
He nodded, letting out a muffled "Mhm."
We continued to walk to my house, I'd been with Kyle all day at his house, seeing as it was my birthday and all. Though I couldn't help but notice that Kyle was a tad bit more excited than I was, and it was MY birthday. I couldn't help but to think of my mom, Shelly and I haven't spoken to her in five years, she went off to pursue her dream career and we never heard from her again. Hell, I wonder if she even knew that Shelly was in college now. We reached the front steps to my house, nobody was home yet so that was good, I guess. I unlocked the door and stepped in, immediately walking over to turn the heater on. God, it was colder in here that it was outside, I don't understand how my dad doesn't freeze in here.
"So, Stan," Kyle said as he rocked back and forth on his heels. "I have kind of a big surprise for you, wait, no, two big surprises."
"Oh, that's nice Kyle but really you didn't have to get me any-" He cut me off.
"No, Stan I had to do this, you'll see in a little bit." He smiled.
"Okay, wanna go play some games in the meantime?" I asked.
"Left4Dead?"
"Sure, why not?" I shrugged.
We spent the next hour and a half shooting zombies until finally, all of our teammates died. Kyle's phone went off and he answered it.
"Hey, yeah, okay, I know, yes sir, goodbye." He hung up the phone and looked at me, smiling.
"Time for your surprise!" He squealed, jumping up and dragging me down the stairs. "Hurry, hurry, put your shoes on!" He chanted.
Five minutes later, I was blindfolded and being led through the snow. 'How do I constantly get myself into these situations, oh, right, Kyle...' I thought as I trudged along.
"Okay, so this is the first surprise," Kyle untied the blindfold, replacing it with his hands. "One, two, three!"
