Chapter 2

I wake up the next morning to the sound of an alarm. I hear other me getting up and putting in their uniforms. I sit up and swing my feet over and then Todd jumps from the top bunk to the ground and starts getting ready as well. After all of us were ready we had to stand at the end of all our bunks and wait for general inspection, this includes if bunks are made,boots are laced right, and uniform is order. One private from the other side of the room had the general screaming at him because one if his boots didn't have a bow. That's when I take it apon Myself to look to the right and see Todd. His grey blue eyes are staring straight forward until the general stops infront if me.

"Private Stanley, can you please share with me why you would be gawking at Private Wade?" the general asks loudly. I feel my face get hot and I look straight forward at his face thinking if a reply.

"It's nothing sir." I shout back.

"You like the way Private Wade looks Private Stanley?" he says embarrassing me further.

"No sir." I say immediately thinking about if I had offended Todd.

"Well that's just rude Private Stanley, next inspection I expect full attention." he says walking off laughing.

The second alarm rings and then the aloud speaker announces breakfast. I look over to see Todd looking at me grinning.

"That hurt you know." he says acing his hand over his heart and laughing

"That was really embarrassing, I mean I didn't mean it." I said stuttering

"So you do like how I look?" he asks with a playful tone. I just look at him with a sarcastic face. We make our way to the cafeteria and find the table we sat at previously. When out table was called Todd and I walked to get food, I still felt surprisingly heated from this morning.

"So why where you looking at me?" Todd asks spontaneously

"You had something on your face." I lied

"Well thanks for telling me!" He says wiping all over his face trying to find the non existent "thing" on his face. I start laughing, but then Todd looks at me and I look straight into the light blue eyes and the conversation from last night came back to me. We were both scared and we were the only ones here for each other.

"Eric?" Todd asks waking me up out of thought.

"Yeah? sorry I just didn't get much sleep last night." I lied again, I have to stop lying to him.

"Liar." he said with a smirk

" I know you like how I look"he says dying of laughter.

"Haha very funny."

Announcements come on telling us that the first week of our training will start next monday and that we have this week off to get acclimated. perfect. a week with nothing to do, with Todd. I'm not sure if this will go well.
