The leaves crunched softly beneath @))6's feet, the only other sound that could be heard in the dead of night was the chirping of the crickets and hooting of the owls, an occasional shaking from the bushes thrown in for good measure.
As she traveled further into the woods, the sound of heavy breathing grew louder. It wasn't theirs, it wasn't a hallucination.
It was her new prey. Their new little plaything. The defenseless teenage boy sat up against a tree, just a few feet away from where @))6 stood.
"Get away from me!" he screamed, over and over, like the many times he had done so during that night. "If you don't stop, I'll -" he paused for a second, thinking, "I'll call the police!" Though it was dark, it was clearly visible that they were looking around for a place to escape.
@))6 crouched down to eye level with the boy, cocking her head before laughing.
"There's no signal here hun, try for yourself," she said, waiting for him to take out his phone.
His hands shook as they reached into his pockets looking for his phone. He shakily dialed in 911. The phone rang for 10 seconds, then 20 seconds, then 30 seconds. Nobody picked up. The boy frantically tried again, still getting nothing. His heartbeat quickened as he slowly looked up at the girl.
"P-Please, don't do this. L-Listen, I won't tell anybody if you let me go," he stuttered, "s-sounds good, yeah?"
@))6 didn't answer, staying silent as she towered over the boy.
"Than w-we've got a deal," he slowly raised his hand for her to shake.
She couldn't hold it back anymore, laughing like she just saw the funniest thing in the world. But then again, in her opinion this really was the funniest thing in the world. The boy who absolutely humiliated her for the past two years quivering against a tree in the middle of nowhere, because of her? How hilarious. Her grip on her axe tightened as her laughter rang out louder and louder through the forest, making the animals that were still awake dead silent. She raised the axe high above her head before swinging it down on his hand. His eyes went wide as he watched it cut through his hand with ease. The dismembered hand fell onto the leaves. Without a moment to spare he began to scream louder than he had ever screamed that night. @))6's laughter grew even louder than before, but not as loud as the screams.
"What makes you think your petty little deal will be of any use to me? You'll still exist," she knelt down and brought her face close to his, "don't you think it would be better if I just killed you right here, right now?" His screams continued, making her sigh.
Blood spewed out of where his hand should have been, dirtying the fallen leaves, the dirt, everything. Even her new shoes. She lowered her eyes onto the now dirtied shoes.
"Aw, these were new. My crush got them for me. He's the sweetest thing, isn't he?" she put a bloodied hand up on her cheek as she blushed. "How will I tell him about what happened with these tomorrow?" she sighed, scratching her chin. Her eyes slowly averted to the still screaming boy, and sighed again. "I guess I have to take care of you first, huh?" she giggled before raising the axe again and cutting into his chest. "That's bound to shut you up."
His screamings began to cease as she pulled it out. That wasn't where she would stop though. Again and again, the same cycle, the same person, she cut into him until his own blood was splattered all over his body. The girl smiled to herself, satisfied with the outcome. Her footsteps began to fade into the distance as she walked away, leaving the corpse there.
