MIKE WAS WALKING WITH JANE
to the skateboard park where Max usually hangs around at. Drowning out all the wining, Jane pushes Mike in front of her so he doesn't walk backwards behind her back.

"Why do I have to apologize over and over again?"

"Mike, we didn't break up for the sake of it, okay? We broke up because you love Max, so go get her!" Jane yelled at Mike, which almost brought Mike to his knees. His heart sank, and his lips were trembling.

"I don't love Max. I have a slight crush on her. That's not a big deal!"

"That's not a big deal? She broke up with Lucas because of you, Mike!" Jane yelled, making her curls bounce. Mike turned to face Jane, making them both stop walking. Jane stared at the skateboard park, a few steps ahead of them but she could still see it.

"So, it's my fault because her love life is going downhill?" Mike retorted which earned a glare from Jane.

"No, it's your fault because you don't appreciate the fact that she could've stayed with Lucas but she didn't. She chose to love you." Jane softly spoke as she continued to walk at the park ahead of her. Mike sullenly following her.

"See? You said it! She wanted to love me, I didn't force her! Why does everyone think it's my fault that she chose to love me instead of doing something useful with her life?!"

"Can you stop being a bitch for once and listen?!"

Mike stopped talking as he realized they reached their destination. His eyes lit up for a second when he saw Max, but they suddenly fill with sadness once he saw she was with another boy. They were both laughing as Max skated around him. Same thing she did with Mike. Mike was in the same position as Jane was once she saw Mike and Max together in the gym. Mike almost felt a tear dropping out of his eye. He never thought he'd be in the position of almost crying because he felt like he lost someone.

Well, he did.
