Shards of Kairos

This story has mostly been a long journey both of loss and an incredible amount of self doubt. It was written, lost to a dead computer, written AGAIN and then finished. And I must have reivsed it, questioned, and doubted myself a hundred times over. I never had the confidence to submit it to publishers, it flopped after a year on Amazon with a lousy cover and hardly any sales. I lost all faith in myself as a writer and I still have utterly none.

But then something happened. I decided I didn't care. And then, in doing so, I actually cared a whole heck of a lot. I wanted to believe in this story, I wanted to fight for it. So against all my own self doubts, here it is again. Raised from the dead (for the third time) for hopefully your enjoyment.

This story has received next to no feedback (so I'm going into this entirely blind, and I guess be warned - it could be awful, it could be great). And the silence has been resounding to me. It's achieved basically no success. And it would mean the world to me, beyond any worlds I can fathom or dream up, to at least have the silence broken. But most of all, I just want Shards to be enjoyed, for it to reach someone - anyone. And through that, maybe I can close some far more personal chapters of my own.

To either let it rest for good, or for it to be continued (it was originally a four part series I chopped down to two) is now entirely up to you. Either way, should Shards fail or fly, it's been quite a journey. And I can't thank you enough for reading any part of it.
