"Cherry. Why Cherry?" JD asked Veronica. They were standing outside of a seven eleven late at night after grabbing Heathers damned copy of Moby Dick. Veronica had just finished taking a drink. "Because I like cherry." She simply replied. JD wrinkled his nose. "Ew." Veronica shoved him. "Shut up! You just don't like it cause it makes you think of Heather!" She accused. JD shrugged. "I can't deny it."
Sometimes they'd sneak in the seven eleven after hours, regenerate the slushy machine, and mix all of the flavors and see how fast they could down a cup. It was stupid and childish, she knew it, but it was fun and gave her a little thrill.
"Why do you take Blue Raspberry, hmmm?" She asked mocking him. JD laughed "Okay, I get it! Stupid question, I know!" Veronica beamed in victory. Times like this she cherished. No Heathers, no worries. "Do you think that the Heathers are witches?" Veronica asked. JD gave her a confused look, but thought for a minute. "Well now that you mention it, they do seem a little too coven-like." He answered. "Exactly," Veronica agreed. "I rarely ever see them apart. Knowing them, they probably live together." She said.
JD pretended his slushy was a cauldron. "And they also make potions in the bathroom during seventh period to solve all of their lady problems." He snickered. Veronica began laughing and choked on her slushy. "Really? Lady problems?" She laughed. JD flushed and laughed. "I don't know!" He cried.
"Well, that would explain it." Veronica sighed. JD was playing with his straw when he flicked it and some of the blue raspberry slushie splashed onto Veronicas bottom lip causing her to jump a bit. JD dipped his head and pressed his blue stained lips to Veronicas. Veronica gasped at the sudden display of affection.
When JD pulled away he was grinning ear to ear.
"You know, I think I like the taste of cherry more than I thought."
