"Dee!"

I turned around to see my best friend, Kacey, sprinting full speed through the crowded mall at me. A huge grin lined her lips, and I laughed as she skidded to a stop in front of me. Out of breath, she bent down, sucking in lots of air.

I shake my head, crossing my arms. "What's got you so excited, Kay?" Kacey looked up at me, panting. "You will never believe what I just found out." I roll my eyes. "Sometimes I think I can never believe you when you're this hyped up."

Kacey giggled and stood back up, punching me playfully. "Come on! I'm being serious here!"

"Serious?" I tapped my chin. "You must be sick. You're never very serious, at least in my presence."

"Shut up." She let out a breathy laugh. "What I was going to say was I saw a huge sign outside of the food court coming back here."

"News flash: there's signs all over the place. I'm not surprised."

"You will be when you come see what's on it!" Kacey replied, grabbing my occupied hands filled shopping bags, and dragging me a few feet away.

"Come on Kace, I'm tired of walking. Can't you just tell me what's on it?" I whined like a child, trying to drag my feet to slow her down.

"Nope! Like you said, it's hard to believe me when I'm this hyped up!" Kacey mocked, shooting a smirk at me as a groaned.

We twisted past more shoppers, some in groups, some by themselves. We past many children, and a few shoppers pushing strollers along with them. You could have mistaken this day for Black Friday.

Finally, Kacey pulled me towards a large banner that a crowd had gathered around.

"Huh. Wasn't this crowded when I passed." Kacey muttered, but still pulled me through towards the front, despite my ongoing protests.

As soon as we came to the break in the crowd, Kacey dramatically motioned to the front of the banner, yelling "Ta-da!" at the top of her lungs.

I gasped at what I saw.

It was an announcement for a comic-con. Sure, this mall was very large, and often hosted meet and greets for many occasions. But this one really caught people's eye.

It was for my absolute favorite show, Supernatural.

I nearly squealed in excitement. This was amazing! I'd always dreamed of meeting the cast. Especially my favorite actor, Misha Collins.

Damn, the guy can act.

I bounced up an down, a grin on my face now.

"Oh, and they're selling tickets over there." Kacey pointed to a table, where a large line of people were anxiously waiting.

My hopes were lost. My smile disappeared. "Kay," I whispered sadly. "You know I can't afford that."

"But I could!" Kacey said, pulling out two tickets for each of us.

This time I did squeal.

"Kacey, thank you so much!" I tackled her in a hug, my heart beating faster than normal. Kacey laughed and pushed me off. "You're welcome, you dork." She nudged me. "It's next Friday. That's when we don't need to work. You're gonna be able to go."

I nodded. Thank god Jason let us have a day of from banking. I hated my job, mostly since I just sat the whole day, but I only did it to make money for my family.

Suddenly, my phone rang. I pulled it out of my pocket and glanced at the caller ID. It was my little 13 year old sister, Rosemary.

"Hello?" I asked, moving away from the loud crowed to try to get a better sound from the call.

"Dakota..." Rosemary whispered. "Mom's drinking again."

I groaned, closing my eyes for a moment. "Fine. I'm on my way home." I hung up before she could answer, and headed back over to Kacey.

"That was quick," she chuckled. She frowned at my annoyed appearance. "You okay?"

"I have to go. My mom got into the alcohol cabinet again." I sighed. Kacey pouted her lip, upset. "Well, okay..." She muttered. "I'll call you later." I promised, squeezing her into a hug.

She nodded.

I pulled back and started towards the exit, my fingers busy searching for my car keys.

Well, this is a great way to end the day.
