After about half an hour of trying to find an open parking space in the lot, Kacey and I walked towards the large crowd of people anxiously waiting for the doors to open.
"Damn," Kacey states, her voice hushed. "I never knew how many people come to these conventions." I shrugged. "I was sort of prepared. I've seen videos on YouTube about them." Kacey chuckled and clapped my back. "You're a nerd, you know that?" "Yep," I giggled. "Only because you tell me 83 times a day!"
A loud cheer burst out into the crowd. Kacey and I looked up to see the doors open, and the crowd began to file inside.
We weren't even in the main lobby yet, when suddenly, Kacey grabbed my arm. "Oh. My. Chuck. It's him!"
"Who?" I asked, moving my head to try and see around everyone else. "Misha Collins!" Kacey squealed, and immediately, I gasped.
I could finally make out his form, standing next to a table near another exit in the lobby. He was smiling and greeting people as they passed. "We've got to go get an autograph!" Kacey hissed, pushing me in his direction. I nearly tripped and fell, but I honestly didn't care. I mean, come on!
It's Misha Collins!
Making our way up to the table, we waited as the person in front of us left the line.
I felt my heart skip a beat as Misha's blue eyes landed on me. Kacey's hand had not left my arm.
"Hey!" He said, flashing a smile at me. "H-hi." I stuttered, trying not to start blushing. I heard Kacey giggle from behind me, and I fought the urge to turn around and stomp on her foot.
"What's your name, kiddo?" He asked me. "Dakota." I replied. I motioned to the bubbly girl behind me. "That's my friend Kacey."
"Hi!" She said eagerly, now appearing at my side. Misha laughed at her energy. "Have you been drinking coffee lately?" Kacey shook her head. "No. I'm just naturally hyper. Ask her!"
Misha looked back at me, as I rolled my eyes, and he laughed again. "Ever been to one of these conventions?" He asked us, eyes darting back and forth from us. "No," I shrugged. "This is our first."
"Well, it's nice to see you finally made it!" Misha joked, and I couldn't help but giggle.
"Oh, and by the way, nice shirt." He winked at me, causing me to blush now. "Thanks."
He signed the posters and handed them to us, wishing us a good day, and Kacey had to push me to get me to move my legs.
"Geez, I never realized how big your thing for Collins was!" Kasey told me, dragging me to our seats. I shrugged and said nothing.
Suddenly, the back lights dimmed, and everyone started cheering.
Here we go.
