A note from Sellece. It is strange, isn't it? How little we really know about our families. They offered her everything. Freedom from team Go. Adventure. A chance to be the creator of her own path instead of following Hego's orders. And in the end they betrayed her. Poor Cassie. She knows so little about the girl she calls sister. Family is such a strange thing.
It had taken a whole 2 hours of negotiating but Dr. Director had let them keep Alexander, much to Theodore's delight. Now they were in the briefing room, plates of sandwiches laid out in front of them. Ron was pacing back and forth, Rufus on his shoulder. Shego was glaring at him, as if it was his fault they got Kim. Ariana was between them, and Cassie couldn't decide if she was really brave or had a death wish. not that Ariana couldn't handle herself. Salem was watching the green villainess worriedly. Alexander was chained up downstairs with Their lovely little Theodore, note the sarcasm. Cassie was about to speak when the alarm went off. Alexander's screams were momentarily silenced as the Protectors and their apprentices gathered at the large viewing screen in the corner of the room. "Commander Cacia Hayaus."
"General Hayaus, sir."
Her adopted father. The young apprentices jerked to attention. Though she was not his biologic child, she was the most powerful of his children and the most eager to follow in his footsteps. She might not be a Hayaus by blood but she sure as hell had the resolve and grim determination of one. Her brothers and sisters, some soldiers, others reapers, and others seekers of knowledge were happy to pass on the Hayaus legacy to her. Together they were a formidable, powerful family. Theodore saw a leader in his adopted daughter, the same thing Master Salem saw when he took her on as his student. They would pass on the leadership of the Protection squad to her when they finally decided to retire, which wasn't anytime soon. "How can Valkyrie squad be of service to you, sir?"
Valkyrie squad. The name she had chosen for her team when she was given the rank of Commander. Her father's grim expression made her squad tense. She saw their fists clinch slightly, heads tilt, lips twitch, signs of the same crazy adrenalin that flooded her veins. They were not trigger happy or anything. But they were hunters, predators, their prey the supernatural beings that preyed on the weak and innocent. And she knew they were the best at what they specialized in, hunting traitors and escaped prisoners. Sure they could handle other missions, but nothing beat the fieling of putting a traitor behind bars. His eyes met those of his 4 children currently in the room. The 4 Hayaus siblings shared a look. "Selece has escaped from prison."
It surprised Cassie when Shego, the one sibling she had in the room that wasn't a Hayaus kid, grew still. Her hands clinched into fists, green eyes flicking to the screen. She shared a look with the adopted parent of her little sister. What wern't they telling her?
