Her words were honey to the dark creature, its crest flashing brighter as it soaked in her beautiful, yet primitive tongue. The creature recalled many worlds, all of which were in their own stages of primitiveness, only a few nearly as advanced as its own society. The words though, they had a different texture to them, rich and pure in notes.
Her personality burst through like flowers, the tone of a nice person ringing through almost as much as that of a self confident young individual. An even better word. Individual. She was independent, hardly in need of anyone, but that only picked up through a few words. Words asking what it was, what it wanted, where did it come from. The words hid nothing and showed no signs to hide feelings, to hide intentions.
It raised its hands to the stars and the girl paused, watching as it pointed to a small piece of the gray sky. What did it want? What did it mean when it pointed? It pushed the humanoid finger further, pinpointing some far off place that had to lay beyond the clouds that hid the sky. The girl translated her thoughts, that maybe it was pointing to its home, somewhere among the stars.
The next gesture was towards the Sonic Drive In, or rather right above it, the place where the black pyramid had appeared some time ago. With one hand, the creature pointed to itself and moved that hand to the right. With the other, it gestured towards the place the pyramid had been and followed the other hand.
Chased? It had been chased?
The creature quickly nodded to the questioning look on her face, the girl gesturing to imitate it. This caused her to gasp, the breath like a quick upshooting of spring flowers as she realized what had happened, or as much as she could comprehend. The alien had been chased here, but was it left alone, to never be found. What would happen to it?
She voiced the concerns and it only shook its head, the soft crest ruffling with the movement. As cars began to move around the lot, the creature stared her down, eyes turning a deep green, the only thing capturing her attention as the rest faded into the gray surroundings.
She blinked.
The creature had gone.
