Once on the roof Ash punches him and holds her gun to his head once again. "Explain now!" she demanded. He rubs his cheek and sighs. "So ya I worked with Negan for a bit till I finally got the wake up call after watching him grab my friend and pinned him to the fence where walkers reached through and pulled his flesh off little by little his screaming making us cry as we watched as we were held back by his people. His screaming stopped and his corps could no longer stand. Negan held his corps their and others zip tied the body in place. He took his heart and placed it in my lap laughing saying that if we tried to leave again that he would kill us all. Later that night we left running. I remember the miles that made my heart shake thinking about him, his screams in my mind haunting me every night. I couldn't work for him anymore. Now i'm guessing he found out we left and is hunting us down." He wipes a tear from his eye as Ash and JD sat back with a sad look on their faces. "I'm so sorry." Ash finally speaks after what seems to be an hour of silence. JD nods "Me too. I knew he was wicked but i didn't think he would do something that bad."
JD goes to check on walkers. Thief shakes the memories from his mind and smiles "So Ash, I hear its going to be cold tonight, maybe you'd like to cuddle in a warm sleeping bag with me?" he winks at her and JD hears a loud slap and turns to see Ash giving Thief a death glare his cheek red where the hand mark is. JD laughs "I'v already tried the sleeping bag trick and she punched me. Try sneaking into her tent next time." He stops and covers his mouth now seeing her standing up. He hands her a glass of coffee he found "I-Its still good. Please take this as an apology!" she nods and sits back down chugging it down. Thief blushes a little as he laughs "Note give you coffee when your pissed off. Hay JD are the walkers gone?" JD nods and they start to head down and to the road. They walk for a bit and pass a hospital. Ash looks around "come on were going in, the group could use some more medical supplies." They head into the dark building and look around and downs some halls where some lights flicker and some birds fly through the broken windows to their nests. their is a bit of moss and vines growing on the walls and bugs crawling around.
"Good to know the earth is taking back its world." Ash smiles as she picks a flower growing on the vine and sniffing it. "Ya, its peaceful in a way. It makes you feel like nothing bad is trying to kill you." Thief puts his hand on her shoulder. "Well their is." JD glares "Have you forgotten about the walkers out their trying to kill everyone we know and love?" He storms off and they sigh. Thief runs to him and grabs his arm "Look were ju..." they both freeze in place and go quiet. Ash walks up to them and looks in the room and stops when she sees it. A man on the ground with a two dogs on top of him ripping away at his flesh, his lower jaw gone and his tongue hanging out as he reaches for them. They back away and head back out closing the door. "Do you think they saw us?" JD speaks with a shaky voice. Ash looks through the window and gasps and holds her breath as she sees one of the dogs looking right back at her. its eyes white, half of its face gone and fresh blood and flesh hanging from its mouth, its body skinny but open wounds showing that the man put up a fight, drool hitting the ground and the other dog next to it walking into a wall, its nose gone along with part of its jaw, an ear missing the other bitten in half, its guts dragging on the floor and its tail close to falling off. She ducks back down as they walk off and they start sneaking off.
"The poor things." Ash sighs as they get far enough away from the hospital. They hear a crash and look behind them as they see the dogs broke the windows and are now running at them. "RUN!" JD screams as they take off through the city knocking over trashcans in the alleys to try and slow them down. Thief grabs his gun from his back and shoots as they run. "We need to find somewhere to hide!" Ash says as they round a corner shooting as well. "Like where?" JD responds as he looks around. "I think I know a place it has a meat locker. i think t will be good for them and keep us safe." Thief says and Ash starts to sniffs around finally picking up the smell of cold rotting meat. "This is when I love being a Wolfkin. Follow me!" They run faster. "Wait why do we want to help them?" JD looks at him. "They may be dead but they were once someones pets and best friends it just doesn't feel right killing them." Thief responds as he looks down sadly. "They were yours weren't they." JD looks at him. "No they were my friend's he lost them when Negan took us away." They round another corner and run into a guy, they dart back up "You need to run!" as Ash says this a dog jumps on him and bites into the back of his neck, his screams filling the air. they run off as the second dog rounds the corner ignoring the new dead body. "Well that helped take care of one of them" JD says as they run into the building and hide behind the meat locker door. the dog runs in and they close the door and lock it.
"That went well." Ash says as she slides down the door taking deep breaths. "Ya that was." JD laughs a bit. "You guys are crazy. i like that." Thief smiles and laughs as he helps Ash up and start to head to the CDC. "You'll like our group their crazy as well." JD walks up next to him. "Hay do you think you can tell me anything about Ashy?" Thief smiles and looks back at her, JD growls "Her friend Fire is crazy as all heck and will kill you for trying anything with her. Ashy will as well, so id be careful around them." JD walks faster as the start to see the CDC.
Fire's ears perk up as she jumps up and sniffs the air and howls as her tail wags, Titan and the others look at her as she bolts up the stairs to the main floor. Ash hears her and backs sighs "Hay JD can you come here?" JD nods and walks over to Ash and she places him in front of her smiling then steps to the side. JD looks confused till he hears footsteps approaching quickly. "OH SH...." Fire runs into him making them both roll on the ground for a bit and into a wall. Thief laughs hard along with Ash and he others as they walk up to see what happened. Fire gets up and glares at her then walks up and tries to hug her but Ash doges and starts to run away Fire chasing after her till she tackles her and hugs her. JD sits up his head bleeding "How did she not get hurt from that?" He looks at Fire. Titan helps him up "Its Fire, she did that to her daily remember." Thief smiles "I think I'll like it here."
