This one was written with a prompt and that prompt was "I am not human. I never was. So why do are you expecting me to act like one?" Enjoy.

Lightning flashed outside, lighting up the small flat. A silhouette of a woman was pacing back and forth. She was so immersed in pacing that she didn't notice a man come in.

"Luna. What are you doing?"

That voice sounded so familiar yet so strange to her all at once.

"Nate, I didn't think you were still up. You are normally asleep at this time." declared Luna.

A crack of thunder sounded, Luna visible started to shake.

"Come on Luna, let's get you get to bed, this storm will be over by the time you wake up."

Nate started to walk towards Luna, lightning quickly lit up the room, there were visible tears on her checks.

"No, Nate I can't. I have to go. I can't stay any longer." whimpered Luna as she started to back towards the door. This was when Nate noticed her bag, fully packed and by the door.

"Luna, where are you going?" inquired the increasingly curious man.

"Home."

With that one word Nate broke down, his sobs only being drowned out by the rain pounding against the windows.

"Luna, you can't. I can't loss you too. You're my best friend. Come sit down for fucks sake, let's talk about this." Nate begged.

Luna stood there for a moment hesitant, after what felt like decades she sat down on the sofa, Nate next to her. Her bag at the door trying to tempting her. They sat there is silence, the only noise was the rain, and the occasional crack of thunder. Tears lay dry on both of their checks.

"Why are you doing this?" Luna questioned

"What do you mean?" inquired Nate.

"Treating me like... like I'm just like you. I am not human. I never was. So why are you expecting me to act like one?" snapped Luna. Her eyes welling up with tears making it impossible for her to see his reaction, but she had heard his heart.

"Luna, I never... never knew you felt like that...."

"Save it Nate! Goodbye."

When those words fell from her mouth Nate knew he had lost her forever. Luna went and picked up her bag and left, the door closing behind her with a slam. Nate was left all alone his only friend gone into the night.

"Luna, I never got the chance to tell you, that I loved you." he whispered to himself and the empty flat. The thunderstorm still raging outside.
