The spaceship spun out of control racing downward toward the planet surface. Tory pulled with all his might on the control lever but the ship didn’t budge. He could now see the land below the atmospheric gas covering the alien world. The cockpit started to rattle. Flames were now surrounding the outside from the friction caused the fast descent through the atmosphere. A computer spoke from the control panel. “Warning. you are approaching land on an unassigned landing” it said. Tory flipped a switch that turned off the voice command. Stupid computer, he thought to himself. Why would the emergency system warn him of a situation he’s aware of?
The ship sped quickly towards the ground. There wasn’t much time left before impact. He kept pulling on the lever even though there hadn’t been any progress on changing the course. The ship tilted upward slightly. He was now about two hundred feet above the ground and closing in. Now running horizontally with the landscape. The ship started to drop in altitude. Tory closed his eyes and braced for impact. There was a loud rumbling sound. The interior of the cockpit slammed down throwing him forward and off of his pilot seat.
Tory opened his eyes. The crash landing must have knocked him out. He looked around and found himself to be in one piece. He sighed in relief. The windows of the ship were covered in dust. He picked himself up and opened the ship door. Light poured into hull. The area was covered in red rocks and rocky formations. In front of him stood a strange world unlike that of his home Earth. Up in the sky planets could be seen not far away. He fitted his blaster in the leather holster on his belt. In the distance were miles of barren land that seemed untouched. He stepped forward. He looked down at his feet “There’s one small step for me and an even smaller step for my spacecraft.”
The wind blew in his face as he ventured toward the top of a rock formation. Tory figured it would help to know the surrounding area. He reached the top and pulled out a high tech pair of binoculars. Through the lenses he scanned the circumference. He could see smoke a few miles ahead. There were flashes of light and explosions. Must be blaster shots, he thought. He walked back to the ship to grab supplies. His ship was in no condition to fly back off of the planet. In the back of the cockpit he pulled out a pouched that had food and water, some tool, and a few extra energy cells for his blaster.
He closed the ship hatched and started his venture to find help. The heat and wind combined was a real powerful combination and he didn’t have any ultra violet ray blocker on him. The back of his neck started to turn red from the nasty burn being formed as he walked. It stung like crazy but he tried not to focus much on it. In front of him there was an explosion. Taking cover quickly behind a rock he looked around the bend and saw aliens shooting at each other. On alien stood on a rock shooting his blaster at the oncoming alien soldiers. Tory breathed in took off at a run toward the alien on the rock, shooting at the other aliens’ as he made sure to keep his footing. He reached the rock on which the alien had been using as a barrier to protect himself from the laser blasts.
