I was so happy to land this job. A million girls would kill to get this job. If it was just being a maid, no Frances involved, I would have turned it down. I had read all the articles and listened to the interviews about Kurt and Courtney’s drug abuse. I grew up around that stuff all my life and I was finally rid of it, but now knowing there is a baby involved and she could possibly end up having the same childhood I had, I felt I had to save her in a way.

It was going to be difficult hiding the fact I’ve had a monster crush on Courtney’s husband since I was 16. I could only dream about being Mrs. Kurt Donald Cobain and now I was going to be living under the same roof as him. It was going to be interesting how long I could keep that secret to myself.

Today is the day I move into the Cobain household. It was going to take some getting used to living in such a big house, back in Australia our house was about the size of their living room.

Luckily all my belongings fitted into two duffle bags so I could easily catch the bus there. I’d miss living with Jess. I’d miss having her to talk to, yell at and clean up after. She didn’t have the best upbringing either so we both have looked out for each other since we were 14. I was always the more mature one, she was the rebel. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had my fair share of trouble too but you know what our parents say; were just kids.

I arrived at The Cobain home at around two in the afternoon. I got a chance to look at it properly . I must say Kurt did really well. It wasn’t too big or too small. I liked that he wasn’t a diva and was comfortable with the small things in life.

Courtney gave me a skeleton key so I didn’t have to knock, I could just let myself in whenever. I walked in to the house and into the foyer. “Courtney? It’s Clem I have all my things!” I heard rustling upstairs and could faintly hear Frances babbling. “Hey Clem, I’m just changing Frances so feel free to set your room up however you like, I’ll show you around shortly”

I set off for upstairs and into my new bedroom. It was furnished with a queen bed, dresser with a chair and mirror and a walk in wardrobe. ‘This could do really nicely’ I thought to myself. I left the door open so I could hear if Courtney yelled out to me but I didn’t hear the faint footsteps walk toward the room.

I attempted to lift my last bag on top of the bed but it slipped out of my hand. I instantly felt a sharp pain in my foot because my heavy jewellery box landed on my toe. “Son of a nutcracker!’ I cursed in pain. “Are you okay?” I heard an angelic yet familiar voice ask me.

I turned around and saw none other than Kurt Cobain. He stood there in blue ripped jeans and a stripy black and white shirt. His blonde hair reached his shoulders and his face etched with a beautiful and contagious smile. My throat tightened and my breath quickened. It took all I had not to turn hysterical and act calmly.
