"so you know the words it's just pronouncing them, right?" dustin asked, still looking down. we were both sitting on the couch, quite far apart, but what do i know. dustin still won't look up at me. he'll look up for a second then he'll look back down. it was kinda annoying.

"yeah. i told you this yesterday dustin." i replied, attitude evident in my voice.

"right! sorry. i'm really distracted right now." he looked up just to look at his lap again.

i picked up my binder and pencil, "then, i'll see you after school tomorrow." i stood up.

"wait! i can still try to work!" he called out.

"forget it! you won't even look up at me!" i twisted the door handle.

"no-" i cut him off by shutting the door.

————— at home —————

"how did you find your way back?" cassandra asked, popping out from the kitchen with a water bottle in hand.

"you," i simply said.

"me?"

"i have information on you. i use that to locate you. catch up." i sat down on the couch.

"what! do you use that often?" she stood in front of me.

"no. just when i need to. gives me headaches. speaking of..." i teleported pain medicine in my hand. "can i get a sip?" i pointed to her water.

"no. teleport one" she mocked my hand motion and walked up the stairs. she said a message in to my head, "don't use that shit on me anymore."

whatever.

the phone started ringing. who the heck is calling? i stood up, put down the pain meds, and picked up the phone, "hello?"

"(y/n)? you're back?" a familiar voice yelled into the phone. bianca.

"hey bee! yeah, i'm back from bridgeport."

"bridgeport huh?" she questioned.

"yeah, that's where i went." i said in a 'duh' tone. "so, what's up?"

"nothing. wanted to see if my best friend was back." i smiled. i'm her best friend.

"i just got back yesterday."

"why didn't you come to school!"

i shrugged even the though she couldn't see me, "didn't feel like it," i plainly replied.

"oh okay. i'll see you tomorrow love. bye!"

"bye bianca," i put the phone back in the wall. what a great friend. checking up on me.

————— school —————

papa has gotten me bike seeing as i had no other way of getting around other than my feet. it was a plain midnight purple color. i liked it. i locked my bike up and ran into the school. i ran into someone. it was will.

"sorry (y/n)!" will apologized but kept his eyes down. him too?

"you're fine. where's jane?"
