Chapter One

They say, "Honesty is the best policy." Sure. Whoever said that clearly wasn't talking to me. Because I'm the heart and soul of honesty. And quiet frankly, I hate it.

You see everyone in my family was cursed with a power. Whether it be a good or bad curse, it's a curse. Mine is that I can never lie. No matter how hard I try, it's just not happening.

Which is why I say this with complete honesty. I wish, more than ever, that I was lying to you right now when I tell you how I ended up getting bailed out of jail tonight. This is my story on how the truth lies within. Whether or not it's really the truth.

Chapter Two

Ah!!! Yep. It's 2:00 in the morning. Yet another night of waking up screaming. For the past 3 weeks I've woke up at 2:00 in the morning screaming from a recurring nightmare. I'm in my wedding dress covered in blood as I make my way towards the alter. Where the groom is standing fangs bared ready to kill me. And even though I know he is fixing to kill me I can't help but walk towards him without stopping or at least slowing down.

Just as soon as he is about to sink his fangs in my neck I wake up. I've never made it past that part. Quiet frankly I don't care to anyway. Since I'm wide awake showing no sign of going back to sleep, I decide to get up and splash my face with water. As I start to get up I realize how covered in sweat I am, so I go get some water to drink instead.

I slowly make my way through the hall when I see the lights on in my little brother Toby's room.(His curse is no sleep at all.) Tip toeing past his room, I finally make it to the kitchen. As I open up the fridge I hear the faint noise of my parents snoring(their curse). I glance in the fridge and don't see water, so I decide on orange juice instead. When I get done I make my way back to my bedroom and successfully make it there without drawing attention to myself.

As soon as I close my eyes, Toby comes in my room.

"Meg?", I hear him say.

"Are you up?"

"Yeah," I say not being able to lie.

He comes inside and curls up underneath the blankets with me and for awhile we just lie there. As soon as he heres me start to breath heavy though he shakes me and says goodnight.
