After driving for half an hour Calum stopped. They were outside of the city but not too far. Calum parked on the side of the store. The store was small, dingy, and seemingly abandoned. The only sign of life was a small blue car parked right in the front, most likely belonging to the owner. Luke looked at Kodi and smiled.

“Okay so Calum is going to stay here and keep the car running. You and me are going inside demanding all the money and shit and then come out. No more than 5 minutes.” Kodi just nodded her stomach erupting in butterflies. Kodi and Luke climbed out of the car and Luke grabbed a big black back. He grabbed Kodi and pulled her close.

“I’m kind of scared.” She admitted softly.

“That’s normal. But trust me, it’s worth it.” He leaned and kissed her. He slipped his tongue between her teeth and she returned with equal fervor. As he pulled away he bit her lip and she smiled. He reached in his back pocket and pulled out a gun. Kodi stared mesmerized.

“Anything with you is worth it, Luke.”

“Damn straight it is.”

They approached the door of the store and Kodi took a deep breath. Luke quickly walked in and his eyes quickly calculated the area. A small man stood behind the glass in the side. Luke made his way to the man. Kodi followed behind.

“How are you today, sir?” Luke asked while simultaneously slamming the gun down on the counter. The man jumped, his eyes widening in fear. Luke continued talking.

“Now I’m not going to hurt you. I don’t want to hurt you. But if you make this hard, I’ll have no choice but to use this gun, which I really don’t want to do.” Luke smiled. Kodi stood speechless at Luke’s smooth words. “Just take this bag, and put all your money in it. Do it quickly. Any sudden movements and I will put a bullet through your fucking head.”

Luke turned to Kodi and gave her a reassuring smile. The man was hurrying to put the money in the bag. Luke picked up the gun and twirled it lazily while whistling a soft tune. His other hand rested on the counter, his fingers drumming slowly.

The man kept looking up at Luke and then back down at the money. Luke kept his eyes trained on the money going in the bag. Kodi kept her eyes on Luke. His actions. His assurance. It awed her.

“Hurry up man. I have things to do today like fuck my girl right here.” Kodi gasped at Luke.

“Luke what the fuck?” The first thing she said since coming in the store. The man’s eyes looked from Luke to Kodi. His eyes trailed up and down her body. Luke banged the gun on the counter several times to get his attention.

“Eyes on the money before I hurt you.” Luke sneered. Kodi shifted her body more behind Luke. The man’s stare frightened her a bit.

Once the man had finished putting the money in the bag, he gave it to Luke. Luke grabbed it and quickly studied the contents of the bag. Luke looked up and smiled.

“Thank you for your cooperation…” Luke glanced down at the man’s nametag. “…Dave. It’s been a real pleasure doing business with you.”

Luke pushed Kodi back ushering her toward the door. Luke walked backward keeping his eyes on Dave. Dave just stood there defeated, watching as they left with his money, his livelihood. Luke noticed two security cameras in two corners of the store.

Luke raised his hand and aimed for one and fired. Kodi jumped from the sudden loud noise. Luke aimed for the other one and busted it too. Then with one final salute toward Dave they exited the store. Luke grabbed Kodi’s hand and ran toward Calum who was waiting for them in the car. Luke yanked open the car door and Kodi quickly climbed in with Luke behind her. Before Luke could close the door, Calum was already peeling out of the store and driving far away from the place.

“Calum, man I missed it so fucking much.” Calum gave Luke a sideways glance.

“How was it?”

“Fucking scary.” Kodi said. “But awesome, I’ve never done anything like it before.” Luke kissed her temple.

“This is only the beginning, Kodi. I swear I’ll make you queen.”

“Hmm I’d like that.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”
