"So, how about your father?"

"No? I mean... uhh... sorry... I uhm..."

"No it's alright. It's a sensitive topic, I understand. We don't have to talk about anything you don't want to. How about your mother. Can you describe her to me?"

"In... uhm... what way?"

"Looks, personality. Anything you feel comfortable with"

He looked around the room nervously. God why family he thought to himself, shaking his leg anxiously. "She was.... Beautiful. Blonde, and thin, and so kind that uhm.... That she would help the wrong people sometimes. Sometimes she'd get into a little bit of trouble."

His therapist nodded, writing as he talked.

"She would call me baby blue often, it was a... a stupid name that my... dad said she came up with when I was born."

"I dont think its stupid," she laughed lightly "was it because of your hair?"

"Yeah, it might have also been because I was an asphyxia baby" he said, laughing slightly as he spoke. "She was wonderful."

The kind woman smiled "You seem fond of her. What happened."

"I don't want to talk about that either... not yet anyway..."

She nodded. "Alright. How about a less touchy subject. Do you have any recent relationships? New friends, people to confide in?"

"None besides my accidental over sharing to the kid in the grocery check out" he laughed, shaking his head.

His therapist laughed as well. "I hope he enjoyed what you had to say?"

"He seemed to." He nodded.

"Alright." She said with a soft smile before looking up to the clock on the wall. "Sorry to say, but were out of time for today. I'll see you Wednesday, correct?"

"Yes. That's the plan anyway." He joked getting up from the couch.

"Ok. Have a nice day, Sal."

"You too."

On his way home he got a few strange looks as usual. You don't really see people with overly scarred faces often. He usually just sort of minds his own business. If people care enough to ask he'll answer but besides that he stays to himself. Up until now at least.

He made it to the cross walk and stood patiently next to a small woman holding way too many groceries for what she was able to handle, and she was clearly struggling. That was, until she looked up to see who was standing next to her and let out a small startled squeak, dropping some of her things.

Sal laughed off the slight discomfort that came with her fear as he picked up her fallen items. He stood back up, beginning to hand her her things back. "Need some help? You've got quite a load there" he joked with a small smile.

She nodded. "Thank you. My son eats a lot so I buy a lot. You know 'growing boy' and all." She joked, letting him grab a few bags.

He laughed lightly "I don't blame him. I would die for homemade food." he sighed. A family dinner is always the best. "Oh right, My name's Sal by the way."

She smiled "Lisa, nice to meet you... actually, you should join us for lunch! It's the least I can do for you helping me!"

"Oh. I don't know... I wouldn't want to.. Uhm.. intrude" he said, beginning to walk across the street with her.

"It's not a problem at all! just a simple... payback? I dont think thats the right word" She said with a small chuckle before they continued their walk.

"Alright I guess. I've got nothing better to do... or eat."

---

"God you do this every week?" Sal asked, exasperated.

"Twice a week, actually" She laughed.

"Christ. I'm surprised you don't like the rock yet. Why doesn't your son help you?" He asked as they stepped into the elevator of the building.

"He comes when I go on Saturday. He normally has class during the week if he's not working"

"Highschool student?"

"College."

Sal nodded, mouthing a quiet 'oh.' "What uh... What major is he in?"

"Liberal Arts"

"Really? Wow alright. Does he paint?"

"Yeah. Probably too much." She laughed "He's pretty good at it... Actually he's pretty artsy in every way. Music, drawing, painting, you name it he could probably do it with his creative little head. He's been doing it his whole life too" She said with a smile.

She pushed the 'basement' button on the wall of the elevator.

"Oooh spooky. This isn't going to turn into some horror movie is it?"

"I don't think so no." She laughed.
