DEBBRA'S POV

I got up feeling a little drowsy but I had to go if I wanted to make it in time so I shook off the tiredness I was feeling and headed for the rest room which was on a scale of ten,nine times bigger than normal houses and in my room,stripped myself into my birthday suit and made a bubble bath because if it was left to my parents they would want my maids to do it and am a big girl now today's my birthday and am turning sixteen.

That doesn't mean that my maids were the ones who made my baths until today because am sixteen,I actually stopped them from making my bath since I was twelve because it was embarrassing and I had started my monthly glory...you know what I mean riiiiight.

I finished taking my bubble bath and headed for the mirror as i dried myself clean,blow dried my hair put on a bit of make up cause I had pale skin and i didn't want to go clubbing looking like a vampire since I decided to wear black, its my signature colour and put a bit of eyeliner making my eyes look smoky I didn't put much make up on because as much as I didn't want to look like a vampire I also didn't want to look like a clown.

Got dressed and in my overall black,my bag in my hand told my mom I was gonna sleep at my friend's tonight it took a lot of convincing but I won she kept saying that she didn't want me to go cause it was my birthday and she wanted to spend time with me like I care about such shit.

She always does this,she only gives me her attention when it's my birthday or when my result cards come in she's always busy but dad he's different even though he's on business trips almost all the time he calls often making me not to miss him as much.

He's perfect I wouldn't ask for more. In the morning he was the first to call me singing the birthday song with my brother Frederick but I call him they apologized for not being here to celebrate with me and I pretended to be angry and they kept pleading making puppy eyes cause it was a video chat on Skype which made me laugh holding on to my stomach it was hilarious I laugh every time they do that and they knew,they said it in hush tone probably for me not to hear, saying

It works every time.

I glared at them saying "I heard that" and we all ended up laughing I love them it was fun and I was happy.

I walked out of my room quietly leading myself to the stairs which went in a circle hoping I won't have to face her this morning but there she was in the kitchen cooking as if she had being doing that her whole life,ignoring her I continued with my steps heading out for the door then she stopped me

Debby why don't you have breakfast before u head out she said

Which stopped me in my tracks,seriously i didn't want to deal with this shitty situation in the morning looking at my wrist watch I noticed it was nine thirty. I turned around giving her an unpleasant look which she knew and said

Mom as you can see am pretty late, I was supposed to be at star's house at eight thirty but guess what an old woman stops me in my tracks asking me if wanted to eat raising my voice as I said 'old woman'.

Don't talk to me like that Debby....AM YOUR MOTHER she said
