Within two weeks time spent sailing around Hedrion, the remaining fleet of Hedrion had arrived at the Shadow's Cauldron. Seemingly unsuspected thanks to the masked man's help. Their forces docked on the shore and lined up and positioned themselves in an offencive formation and at the head of the assault were the three kings. Darius held his lance at the ready to pierce right through The Heinous One's tainted heart. Charlestine flipped his hammer, contently waiting to smash everything Ferikiah threw at them to pieces. And in front of them all stood Bronsin, with his sword and shield in hand ready to finally put Ferikiah to end.
The silence broke when the Shadow's Cauldron began to swirl at its center, flickering an eerie dark glow. THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-THUMP. It began to beat like a heart, slowly at first.THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-THUMP. It began to speed up. THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-THUMP. The army steadied themselves for battle and raised their weapons. THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-THUMP. The three kings raised their own weapons ready to charge the adversary. THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-THU... .The beating stopped abruptly. The wind became still, the waves calmed, yet the water still swirled. The army slowly lowered there weapons slightly, Darius and Charlestine relaxed, but Bronsin only tightened his gaze on the sea. Five long and silent minutes went by before it began. Shadows billowed forth with ferocious speed. The winds picked up and the calm sea turned into a multitude of tidal waves. a few of the ships were destroyed by the waves and rock wall surrounding the sea. All these forces seeming to have their own mind, set on the singular goal to destroy Hedrion's army.
Bronsin yelled above the chaos," Stand your ground men!"
A figure rose from the maelstrom and shouted in a mocking anger,"You dare face me head on?! Is this bravery I see or is it stupidity!?"
"This ends here and now Ferikiah!" Bronsin shouted back,"Your reign of terror is over!"
Ferikaih continued to mock them saying,"You're half right sir. While I'm far from finished, something will come to and end today. And it shall be all of you, along with the last of Hedrion's futile hope!"
With that his minions began to pour out from the vortex, onto the shore, and into the sky. The opposing sides clashed and the battle began. Swords and claws clashed with each other, Forces on both sides began to drop like flies. The three kings were all dealt the worst enemies. Each king fighting for their lives, smiting monster after monster. Bronsin took a swing at a winged demon flying towards him and clipped his wings. When the creature fell at his feet he looked forward, straight at The Heinous One.
Bronsin readied himself,"It's time to answer for your crimes!"
The Heinous One remained silent as always. He raised his hand and his blade materialized in his hand. Grasping it firmly, he charged at the three kings with unprecedented speed and power. He was only just held back by the them and before he could strike again the three kings pushed him back together. Regaining his bearings, he held his sword aloft to the sky and two bolts of lighting struck beside him from the storm. The kings shielded their eyes from the flash and when they looked back, two large golems in withered clothes rose from the ground and stood beside him. The two golems moved forward and began attacking Darius and Charlestine. Bronsin was surprised when they simply walked past him, but he soon understood that The Heinous One wanted to end him himself. The Heinous One struck first and their battle began.
All the while as this chaos ensued, Ferikiah hovered in the center of the storm. Smiling sickeningly. This was exactly what he wanted, all of Hedrion in complete chaos that he and he alone could control. Soon the pitiful rulers and their armies would be no more and their kingdoms along with them. Victory was hand, he was certain nothing could stop him now.
"Enjoying yourself?" a voice asked from behind.
He turned around to see the robed man floating inside the chaos with him.
