Perseus kept messing up his suit. Clyde, his tailor, wanted to help, but Perseus was too nervous. Today he would be crowned king. Without a Queen, since he hasn't found his mate yet.

"I'll do it", the King, Magnus, assured Clyde.

Magnus fixed his sons suit and eyed him. He knew he wasn't scared of becoming King, he was trained his entire life for that task, but he was upset about not having a Queen.

"Don't forget I'll be there to help. It'll be hard without a Queen, but not impossible",

"I've searched the entire country off for her",

"You are ready for her. But is she ready for you?",

"Of course! Mates belong to each other!", Perseus protested.

"They do, but in a matter of time, my boy. Give it and her some time",

He started at his father and gave in. Now it was time to become king.

A year had passed and Perseus had finally found his mate. Isabel was a daughter of a rich aristocrat, so she was a great catch. Gorgeous girl, but Perseus felt mixed about her character.

He loves her, but she wasn't fit for the throne. Everybody told him, even his own father.

Tonight they would go to the Royal Theatre to see the premier of a play. About a mighty Àlpha who was already married to a girl and mated her, because his father insisted. Then years later, he met his mate. He can't choose, because he doesn't want to hurt either of them.

Quite a sad story, but everybody wanted to go watch it. A new comer Amanda Jones caught a lot of attention, since she was an omega. Rumors said she was ridiculously talented, but Perseus never cared for rumors.

Clyde fixed his black suit, while he brushed his hair back. Perseus never used wax or anything like that, he liked it soft and he liked going through it with his hand.

When they were done he walked towards the gates to the cars, waiting for his mate to show up. Young maids giggled around him and he chuckled when they saw he caught them.

"Oh, David, can you go check up on Isabel?", Perseus asked the head master.

"Of course,your majesty", he bowed.

"I'm here",

Isabel was wearing a white satin dress with a deep cut along her leg. She looked amazing.

"You look gorgeous", Perseus smiled

"You look gorgeous", Perseus smiled.

She took his out reached hand and placed a kiss on his kissable lips. They entered the car, without knowing what was ahead.

Trouble. Trouble was ahead.

Flashes of cameras blinded Perseus, but he succeeded to guide Isabel through due help of his guards. They were lead to the Royal cabin, giving perfect view over the stage.

It seemed they were late, since the room was packed with audience. He didn't care, a King is never late, the rest is simply too early.

After they got seated, the lights dimmed down. Something was stirring inside of him, his wolf was all the sudden excited. He laid his hand on his raising heart, to calm it down.

"You okay?", Isabel whisper-asked.

"Yeah", he assured her, grabbed her hand.

"Once upon a time there was a mighty alpha named Tristan-", the story had officially started.

When she walked on stage, Perseus turned pale. He watched her anxiously, clenching his free hand in a fist. Of course it was a play, but he couldn't help but be jealous.

Because the actor was touching his mate.

He couldn't deny she wasn't talented, because she really was. For an omega she did know how to make an audience love her. And finally she started to sing and it blew his mind away.

In that moment he knew, he forgot about Isabel, he wanted her. He wanted Amanda.

"Would you like to see the cast, your majesty?", David asked.

"Yes", he insisted.

"But weren't we going-", he cut Isabel off.

"We'll go after", he assured her and followed David to the cast.

They walked through the huge theatre towards the coulisse where the actors were. His heartbeat started to raise and his wolf grew excited. This all felt so new to him, although he had already met his mate.

"His majesty, King Perseus and lady Isabel", David announced and the room bowed for them.

Perseus searched for Amanda and found her directly. She stood next to Anna, the wife of Àlpha Tristan. He knew her name was Angela, she was a familiar face in the theatre.

"Your majesty, I'm Leonard, the producer and can I just start by saying what an honor it is to me, to all of us, that you came to the premier", a chubby man hurried into his curtsy.

"I don't regret that choice. Fantastic production", Perseus smiled.

"Thank you, your majesty-",

"I didn't understand the ending. Why did she have to die?", Isabel interrupted.

"Anna, my lady?", he stuttered.

"Yes. Why did she have to die?",

Perseus sneaked a glance at his mate, seeing her crossed arms. This was really embarrassing. He could already feel David shaking his head in disapproval.

"Well-", she cut him off again.

"I want her to answer", Isabel posted her chin towards Amanda.

Her pale face went red in embarrassment. Her blue eyes hurried through the room, looking for someone to save her.
Nobody did, so she replied.

"It was a sacrifice she was willing to make for a man she grew to love, my lady",

"Why did death have to be the sacrifice?",

"Isabel-", Perseus tried, but Amanda came with a quick answer.

"Her death was a way for her to be free. In the story was said that her real mate died in a battle. Death would mean to be reunited with her true mate",

The room was silent for a moment, Isabel took Amanda in. Perseus liked her. From the outside she was this insecure, innocent, little girl, but from the moment she spoke it was like something possessed her. A fire came through.

"I wish you all the luck for your other shows, I'm sure the people will love it just as much as my fiancé and I did", he smiled.

"Thank you once again, your majesty", Leonard repeated.

Perseus smiled and walked outside followed by Isabel. Again through the flashlights of the cameras to the safety the limo held.

"I think the play sucked", Isabel muttered resting her head in his chest.

He didn't. He very much enjoyed it.
