Lightning strikes fell with a loud bang as they awoke you from your deep slumber. You felt your phone buzz a couple times from the night table and you lazily raised your hand to grab it, trying not to move too much from your cozy position. The name displayed on screen was too familiar 'Nini', you were trembling like crazy, a faint smile creeped onto your face nonetheless. You opened your cellphone as hastily as you could. "Hey y/n...are you asleep?" his sweet gesture was much appreciated. You chuckled and replied to his text message "no, I can't sleep well...I know it's kind of selfish of me but...come over..?". With only a few seconds passing you heard a knock at your door, you chuckled and opened the door. Kai was at your door with cozy blankets and snacks. You smiled slightly at the sight. "Thank you Nini." You said as you pulled him inside and hugged him for what seemed like hours. He finally let go and smiled sheepishly at you as he showed you the snacks he had brought. "I knew you couldn't sleep on stormy nights so I prepared this ahead of time." He says as he hands you your favorite snack. "Thank you." You reply as you drag him to your bed. "So Nini, have you heard from the guys yet..?" You looked at him with curious puppy eyes. "Well not really...no."
He says as he scratches the back of his neck. "Where do you think they are?" You said as you looked into the dark and stormy night. "I have no idea, but we can only hope that they're okay." He says as he runs his fingers through your hair.
"I hope so." You say as you smile cheekily at him, "Do you want to make a fort and sleep in it?" You tell him as he gives you a slight nod.
Kai had been with you ever since your parents had passed away. He was always there, right at your side, no matter what. And you couldn't imagine a life without him. Your closest friends whom you called family had disappeared on the same day your parents had passed away. You went on a family trip by car, it was raining just like today. The car's wheels got messed up, and well...you crashed into a massive tree. Kai and you were the only ones found along with your parents, they were taken to the hospital at the same time you and Kai were, but they died shortly after arriving. They never found Jae and Jungkook, for 10 years straight, Kai and you searched for them nonstop. You had almost given up all hope until there was a police report that they had seen two figures around the area of the accident. That place is deserted no one ever goes there, but yet they have a report of two figures, who could possibly be your childhood friends. You couldn't be happier. The report is now 2 months old, yet you can't seem to find anything. To this day you still wish to find them both alive and well, Kai and you made a pact, that whatever happens, you will search for them no matter what. And the day you find them, you'll never let go again. For this reason you have trouble making friends and such, you've always been afraid of losing them, just like you lost your most precious friends, without a warning. It hurt like a million bricks falling on you, knowing how hard life could be for them right now. You just wanted to run off and find them for yourself but you knew that wouldn't lead you anywhere. The police are doing all they can, yet you seem as impatient as can get. Wherever they are you hope they're doing fine. "Hey Nini, what would I do without you?" You say as a single tear rolls down your cheek. "Oh y/n, please don't cry...I promise we'll find them, don't worry, we're close, I feel it." Says Kai as he pulls you into a tight hug that melts all your worries away. All you can do is wait and see, Kai is never wrong, and more than ever, you'd wish he wasn't this time around.
