Robin's p.o.v.
"Rooooobiiiiinnnnnn!!!!!" Jake yells from the kitchen. I groan and look around. I was on Hero's bed. I thought I fell asleep on the couch? I got up and walked to the kitchen to find my annoying stepbrother trying to make pancakes. Well he's still trying to make the batter.
"What Jake?" I ask rubbing my eyes.
"Do you know how to make pancake batter? I can't seem to find some of the ingredients and some of the things on here are just insane. It says to add vanilla but vanilla what? Vanilla ice cream?"
"Vanilla extract idiot." I was about to say but someone else beat me to it. I turn and see Hero behind me. "Morning Robin."
"Uh hey Hero..I haven't seen much of you lately." I say a little surprised. I've been here a week and the only time I saw Hero was when we first met.
"Yeah, sorry about that," he says and walks past me and pushes Jake to the side, "I was busy with work and school." He ended nonchalantly. Hero began working on the pancakes, he seemed more sure at what he was doing than Jake.
"Bro, I'm glad your back. Now me and Robin won't have to be eating takeout." Jake chuckles.
"Still can't believe you can't cook." Hero and I say at the same time.
"Hey! Its not my fault. Plus I have an awesome cook. If only he was home to actually cook."
"I have to work Jake."
"I'm pretty sure you were just with Lillie." Jake retorts and I see Hero go rigid.
"Who's Lillie?" I ask.
"Hero's future wife." Jake says and I feel my stomach drop. Hero has a girlfriend?
"How many times do I have to tell you Jake? Its not like that between me and Lillie! She's just a friend." Hero says as he finishes making the batter.
"Someone's drooling." Jake whispers to me and I realize that I was staring at Hero.
"Uh Hero, what happened to your arm?" I ask noticing that there was a bandage on his bicep.
"Oh nothing to worry about. I was helping Lillie move some stuff in her apartment yesterday and a box fell on me. What happened to your eye?" He got the skillet out and began prepping it for the pancakes.
"She got into a fight with Lexi." Jake said holding in a laugh. I still don't see what my idiot brother sees so funny about that.
"Lexi Harper?" Hero doesn't hesitate to ask. The name actually rolled off his tounge with such ease, like he said it a lot.
"Yip." Jake replied popping the 'p'.
"Why did you get in a fight with Lexi?" Hero asked me while keeping his eyes on the pancakes.
"She asked for it."
"She doesn't know left to right."
"She still asked for it."
"Lexi is nice." Hero said, protecting the girl.
"She's a bitch."
"She's an amazing person once you get to know her."
"Do you think she's georgous the too?" I spitted out involentarialy. "Ugh. I'm going back to sleep." I quickly make my way back to Hero's room and hide myself under his covers. They still have his scent. Its fading but its still there. After a few minutes I hear the door open and close, then the bed sunk slightly.
"She's my ex." I hear Hero's voice begin. "I don't know what to think about her. I know I don't like her the way I used to. I don't like anyone like that." I felt my heart ache at the words he was telling me. I slowly took off the covers from my head and saw him looking at the picture that was on his nightstand. The one with him a girl and a boy. "I never thought I would after I lost my brother but then I did. It was like 'love at first sight' with them. I did my best to shove it down because I don't want to mess anything up that I have with this person already but, they make it so damn hard to be near them without making me think about how bad I want to hold them."
