The supernatural themes.
Obviously, there is a fair amount of fantasy and supernatural stuff in this show, and it's just amazing. Of course, the plot revolves around Lucifer who truly is the Devil, but on top of that, we get to see demons, angels, and the matter of Lucifer's Mom and Dad is also handled through the show. And honestly, the immortality and divine light and wings and devilish persuasion and super strength is just beyond entertaining.
And now, the show has Marcus Pierce, who is actually Cain — yes, the Cain who murdered his brother, and is now doomed to spend an eternity on Earth. And naturally, we get to see Abel too.
So yes, amongst the crime and the friendships and the relationship drama, this show is ultimately about the most powerful beings on Earth and the way it plays into the seasons is just thrilling.
