Chapter One- A Normal Day

Ellie's POV: It was Winter break and it was just a normal day. I woke up ate breakfast, washed my face, brushed my teeth,got dressed, did my hair in a high pony tail and wore black leggings and a black sweatshirt from the store pink. I put on a pair of black uggs and black gloves. I live in central New York so it was freezing. As I went downstairs my dad asked me "where's your coat?" I explained how I would be warm enough in my sweatshirt. My whole family were going to my sisters hockey game, because she's a senior and it's her last game. My dad, Robert got in the driver seat and my mom, Clara got in the passenger seat. My sister and I piled in the back seat. The game was boring as usual, and I couldn't care less if they won. I heard my moms phone going off and I knew it was hers because it's the weirdest ringer ever. She got up and walked outside to answer her phone. She was on the phone for about 5 minutes and when she came back in i asked her who called her and she just said it was nobody, I could see that she looked upset and I wanted to know who it was.
Back in the car:
My sisters team lost, so everyone was in a gloomy mood.
Back home:
When I got home I took my shoes off, pet my dog, and went upstairs. I put criminal minds on and eventually dozed off. I woke up to my friend calling me asking if I wanted to hang out. I told her not today, because I was very tired. As I walked downstairs I noticed my family all gathered in the living room looking sad. I thought I'm my head they couldn't be this sad over a hockey game. As I walked in the living room my mom said "Ellie please sit down we need to tell you something"
