The door shut quietly behind Weiss as she hung up her coat. The frigid January weather had still not died down almost a full week into February, which contrary to popular belief, Weiss hated. Visions of a beach shrouded in sunset filled her mind, warming her to the core. She thought about relaxing in armchairs with Ruby and a nice iced tea by her side, shades propped up on her nose. The visions were cut short by a defeated scream from their room.

Weiss rushed to the door to hear Ruby's voice emanating from within, obviously on the phone. Weiss hesitated for a second, wondering if it would be appropriate to eavesdrop, but curiosity ended up getting the better of her.

"What do you mean? Didn't we arrange our plans for Valentine's Day like, weeks ago? You can't just change them up on me!"

"Valentine's Day plans?" Weiss wondered, pressing her ear harder against the door.

"Listen, it HAS to be Valentine's Day. Weiss has her Statistics final that day and I know she's going to only want a nap and nothing more, it's the perfect opportunity!" A brief silence. "No, Weiss doesn't know about this. Why would I tell her?"

"Wait, what? Could she be making plans with someone else? Does she not love me or something?" Weiss let out a shaky breath, retreating from the door. She retraced her steps and exited the door, grabbing her coat and leaving with a loud slam of the door.

Ruby opened the bedroom door, phone still pressed to her ear. "Weiss, are you home?" She called, inspecting the now-tidy living room around her. She shrugged her shoulders and returned to her conversation. "Listen Yang, I need them ON Valentine's Day or sooner! Weiss is going to love the surprise!" Another brief silence. "No, I said I'm paying for them. My girlfriend, my wallet!"
