"Class, before I dismiss you, I'd like to tell you something. " Edward said. "Now, due to some things coming up, I'd like you all to know that class will be held tomorrow." The whole class started murmuring, some boys yelling "NO!"
"Quiet!" Edward yelled. A little annoyed, he started "The reason for that is, myself and Miss Marissa over here," he pointed at her and smiled. His speech calmer now, "we won't be able to make it on Friday and if we don't come, that's about 3 of our groups unattended. We don't want you to be waisting your time for nothing. Is that clear?" He asked with his eyebrows raised.
Only some students replied, the rest just picked up their bags and started to talk to each other.
"Class dismissed!" Edward said, loudly, and the students started walking out.
Primrose picked up her bag and started to walk slowly towards the door. She was really excited about clas being held tomorrow. They were going to pick their partners that they would keep for the rest of the semester and if there was enough time, Primrose would get to know her vocal range.
"We all know what they're doing on Friday" a girl said to Primrose, disturbing her trail of thoughts. Primrose, confused, asked her with a chuckle "hah, what?"
"You seriously don't know?" She said to Primrose with her eyebrows raised.
"No?" Primrose questioned, also with her eyebrow raised.
The girl chuckled. "He's taking her for lunch, then he's going to take her home. At home, they will bang till Saturday!" She was so confident about what she said.
Primrose laughed, "Are you sure?"
The girl stopped walking and raised her right eyebrow. "Does this face look like its bluffing?" She questioned while pointing at her face.
Primrose just laughed and continued walking with that girl. "My name is Scarla." She was about 4 inches taller than Primrose, dark skinned and very skinny.
"Primrose." She said with a smile. "So, what group are you in?" Scarla asked.
"I'm in the singing group. You're in Photography, right? I saw you sitting next to Michael." Primrose said.
"Well..." Scarla said with a pause. "Aren't you a creeper" Primrose chuckled in embarrassment.
"No, no. I was just really bored during the welcome speech. Today was your first class?" Primrose confessed.
"Yep" Scarla said. She was very energetic.
"Well, get used to hearing that everyday." Primrose rolled her eyes.
"So, you're from here?" Scarla asked.
"Yeah, my class is in that building." Primrose said pointing at the brick building just across the pathway. Her building was the high school one. It was long, in width, covered in glossy salmon coloured brick and three-stories high. Edenfield was a large school and very popular in her town. There are were separate buildings for elementary school, middle school and high school. All buildings were placed in the same area, but further apart, so the students had to walk a lot. The after school classes were held in the middle school building.
"Ah. I'm from Evens." Scarla said, looking down.
"Oh...Evens. I heard that's a pretty good school." Primrose lied, obvious in her tone. Evens was the worst institution in the area. It was full of rich, spoilt children who never want to study which would cause the teacher's efforts to go to waste. Almost every month, an event would take place in the school premises and the funds would be taken from the students. The fees itself was above the roof, increasing from elementary to high school.
"Ah ha, no it isn't." Scarla shaked her head, detecting her sarcasm. Primrose smirked at her cleverness.
"It's the worst. I talked to my Dad and he said if I like this school, I'll come here." Scarla said while looking around.
"Oh, like what you see?" Primrose joked while revealing her shirt under her jacket by zipping it open. Primrose got comfortable easily with people who seemed like they were just like her. She knew making such a joke with Scarla won't ruin her newly made friendship with her because judging from her attitude, she probably did the same. However, she was still nervous about her reaction.
"Yeah, I do. A lot." Scarla joked back with a pedophilic smile calming down some of the tension that built up in Primrose's chest.
They reached the gate of the school and Scarla said goodbye to Primrose and climbed on the bus. Primrose waved and smiled, watching the bus leave. She stood and waited for her father to reach school. He would always say he was late because of work but Primrose knew something else was up.
Her Dad eventually pulled up the car in front of the school, Primrose being last girl left. The car ride home was quite joyful, they laughed and made fun of bad drivers. Times like these, Primrose thought it was okay if her Dad was strict, considering the feeling of possessiveness fathers normally have towards their daughters. However, their family wasn't normal in the society they were living in.
