"I'm gonna invite him over." I say with a small smirk while looking over to my friend, Gabriela, then back to the male who was a little away from us, eating his lunch by his lonesome on the tables of our high school.

"What? No!" She said quickly going behind the tree we were standing in front of. We ended up here since it was kinda hot out and the shade of the tree accompanied by the soft breeze helped cool us off.

Our heavy book bags, discarded on a near by bench, were being watched by our group of friends who were most likely laughing at some slowly dying meme.

"Why not? Let me be your wing woman for once." I say while lazily leaning against the tree and holding my writing book to my chest.

"No." She says sternly, "Do you not understand how anxious I'll be around him? And don't say no because I know that you know how anxious I'll be." She rambled on while cleaning her glasses.

I laughed slightly before fixing my own glasses and standing up straight again. I try to walk away slowly and quietly for her not to notice me only for me to jump slightly at her voice.

"Where are you going?" She whisper yells as if she doesn't want a certain someone to hear.

"Me?" I say and turn around to face her while still slowly walking backward. "Nowhere! Where would I, an antisocial nerd, possibly have to go?"

"I'm serious, where are you go-no! I know what you're gonna do! Stop playing!" She said while trying to reach out for me from behind her hiding place. I dodge her hands and quickly walk over to the boy who almost finished with his lunch.

He wearing the same thing as always. A blue and neon green Nike sweater, zipped all the way up, khaki shorts, and some old tennis shoes.

When I finally reach him he looks up and smiles politely. His smile is small and shy and I think that's part of the reason why Gabriela fell for it. I return the smile before speaking up.

"Hey Perry."
