Hi guys, it's Bijou and guess who this story's about, Obsidian, Lillie, Esme, Hau, nope you're wrong if you didn't guess, Calliope. That's right I'm not trolling all you Calliope haters out there, it is actually about Calliope and the Joy family tradition of taking care of an older sister's pokemon. This story starts at the Hau'oli City Pokémon Center where Calliope was finishing up her shift and organizing the items in the Pokemart by type of item, like Pokeballs, medicine and mail. "Thanks for the assistance guys, I really couldn't have done it without you" she said, thanking us for our help. "No prob Calliope, you probably would have helped us out in a situation like this" said Diamond, being as honest as she could be. "Hey guys, how about since you helped me with my shift, you guys get to stay at my house tonight, I have a big family so inviting friends over usually ends in chaos but I'm sure my mom'll allow it after telling her how you guys helped with my shift" said Calliope. Later at Calliope's house, we were all going to watch some TV and eat Calliope's homemade malasadas until Calliope's 11 year old sister Janna entered the living room. "Hey Calliope, I have a very important job for you, can you and your friends babysit Komala for me? I've got a long night shift to go through and the others have plans for the night" she said. "And if you pass this babysitting thing you'll be able to get your starter from Professor Kukui". "Alright sis, what do we need to do in order to babysit Komala?" Calliope asked. "Komala needs to be groomed, fed, bathed, read to, daily cuddled, posted about on Inkaygram because everyone loves cute pokemon and if Komala faints then you can't have a starter, this is a Joy family tradition, it's been around since Pokémon Centers have existed and you need to honor it" said Janna. "Komala, The Drowsing Pokémon, it spends every moment from when it's born to when it dies asleep, and when it's in a deep sleep it'll stop moving all together and it's behavior depends on the dreams it is having" said Rotom, informing us about Komala. "So if Komala's always asleep, then babysitting it will be a breeze, you're gonna get an awesome starter in no time Calliope" said Hau. "Actually Janna's told me that Komala's been having some pretty crazy dreams lately, so we better barricade the door in case Komala gets angry, Janna trains her Komala everyday after her shift, except the night shifts, she even gives it TMs sometimes" Calliope informed us. "Well the first step on Janna's list is to feed Komala, did Janna inform you about what Komala likes to eat?" said Obsidian. "Janna said that Komala loves to eat leaves from the trees outside the city" said Calliope. "Good then lets go get some leaves outside the city like Janna wants us to do" I said while walking out the door to get some leaves. "Woah woah woah B, you can't just feed Komala random leaves, it prefers the Konizatiawa leaves that are very rare and are only found in the forest outside of Hau'oli City, those are it's favorites, that's what Janna tells me" said Calliope. "Let's go find them then, but first Komala and I need to look adorable if we're going out into a dirty little forest and it'll complete one of the things on Janna's list, posting an adorable picture of Komala and I in explorer fashion will get tons of followers on Inkaygram" said Peridot. After Peridot got her and Komala dressed and posted, we left for the Hau'oli Woods, a forest near Hau'oli City but is not found on any Alolan map because of how tourists would accidentally get lost and as the legends say, taken by Bewear, a tall pink bear pokemon with a lot of strength, one hug from that thing can faint you faster than a Flare Blitz from a level 100 Charizard. We entered the forest in explorer gear and looked around to see if Bewear was there like the legends say, the one who was most afraid was Lillie, and she loves pokemon, but Lillie would not wish to be separated from her family and friends by a normal and fighting type bear pokemon, which I don't understand because doesn't Lusamine have a Bewear, so why was she so scared of this one, well keep listening if you want to find out. Just then, the Bewear from the legends popped out of the bushes and noticed that Komala looked like it needed a hug, but yet again Bewear will wanna hug anybody. "Woah no you're not Bewear, this Komala is my sister Janna's and if you want to hug it, you're going to have to go through all of us first" said Calliope, blocking Komala who was wrapped in Obsidian's arms. "Be be be bewear" said the Bewear in response. "I've got this Calliope, go Piplup" said Peridot while throwing Piplup's Pokeball. "I'll assist you sister, Rowlet, take to the skies" said Diamond while throwing Rowlet's Pokeball. "Piplup use your new attack, Whirlpool" said Peridot. "Rowlet Peck now, wait a sec, when did Piplup learn Whirlpool?" Asked Diamond. "Yesterday at school when Piplup and I were training, you can't just look good in life sis, you got to have a passion, and mine in my free time are battling and fashion" Peridot replied. "Hey guys, how about you do what twins should be doing using combo attacks like what Didi and I did last week" Esme said to the twins. "Alright then, combo attack, Whirlpeck" the twins said in unison. It didn't finish off Bewear but something was happening to Komala like it was using a move. For some reason Janna's Komala was using the move Payback which I definitely didn't understand but Obsidian and Rotom did. "Of course, based on visiting multiple pages of pokemon I've seen on Bulbapedia, Payback is one Komala's TM moves like Low Sweep and Earthquake" said Obsidian. "Exactly, after all, after receiving data about pokemon, then I get the moves they learn by level up and by TM as part of my data" said Rotom. Komala's Payback didn't finish off Bewear but something did, a Pokeball thrown by Lusamine. "Yes, I did it, I finally caught that Bewear, now tourists can come to the forest and not be scared anymore, oh hey kids what are you doing here?" She asked us. "We're here to get some Konizatiawa leaves for Janna's Komala so Calliope can get her starter pokemon from Professor Kukui" Hau explained. "Oh I have those leaves, I used them to lure Bewear to this location, it didn't work but when you guys came, Bewear followed" said Lusamine. "Thanks Miss Lusamine, but why were you in the Hau'oli Woods?" I asked her. "I came to catch that Bewear because kahuna Hala wanted to open the forest to not scare off lost tourists and he thought I was the most trustworthy person to do it" explained Lusamine. After the run in with Lusamine we headed back to Calliope's house just as soon as the sun set and we got Komala's bath ready after feeding it the Konizatiawa leaves. "Alright Obsidian, since you've been carrying Komala all afternoon we think that you should bathe and groom it before we cuddle it and tell it a bedtime story before we put it to deep sleep" said Calliope. "Alright I'll just put Komala in the bath, bathing it will be easy because it's always asleep so it'll take less effort than carrying it" he said. After bathing and grooming Komala, Obsidian put Komala into its adorable little bed next to Janna and Calliope's bunk bed and tucked him in. "Hey guys, why kind of story should we tell Komala, we did everything on Janna's list except tell it a bed time story, after all we are cuddling it in its adorable little bed" I said. "I know, how about we tell it the story of how we all rescued Opal from Ultra Space" Lillie suggested. "Good idea Lils, now we have a real story that has drama, suspense and a happy ending" said Obsidian. After telling Komala our story while cuddling it the way Mabel cuddles newborn pokemon at the Pokemon House. As soon as we were done, Janna had just arrived at the house with her hands full of items. "Hey sis, how's my little Komala-wala?" She asked. "He's fine, if you don't believe me, see for yourself" said Calliope while taking her sister upstairs. "Komala, are you? Aaaaaw, Komala's adorable when he's in his little bed, you did an awesome job Calliope, I'll tell mom so Professor Kukui can give you a starter with Opal tomorrow morning" Janna said. "Thanks Janna" said Calliope while hugging her big sister.
