The next morning, Chris woke to the smell of bacon and something softly playing on the TV. He smiles to himself as he slides out of bed.
Chris hopped into the shower and then got ready for the day. He came down the stairs and walked into the kitchen where Quinn was already preparing breakfast.
"Good morning. Sleep well?" She asked with a smile. "Actually, yeah. I did." He replied.
The two enjoyed a nice breakfast. "If you don't mind me by asking... but what happened between you and your ex?" Chris asked.
"Oh, he was a complete party animal. Sleep all day, Drink all night. Which is why I don't think he remembers having sex with me in the first place. He was controlling too. I had to have my phone put away at night, I couldn't have friends... ESPECIALLY other male friends. He was like an overgrown teenager..... but he's older than you." Quinn said.
"So.... basically, he shouldn't have been with someone like you. Mature and ready to start your life." Chris replied.
"Precisely. I waited so long to meet the right guy that... I think I settled for the first man to lay on his charm. You're different... somehow I can tell you're being real. You're not playing games. I like that." She said.
Chris gathered up the breakfast dishes. "May I help?" Quinn asked. "Sure. You can dry." Chris replied.
Chris enjoyed having someone around the house. He began to imagine what it'd be like to have a family. "How can someone just walk away from their baby?" He thought out loud.
Quinn giggled. "Yup, you're nothing like my ex. You're the complete opposite. I like you."
They finish the dishes before Quinn heads to the shower. Chris shook his head and texted Adam.
(Texts in bold.)
Chris: Adam, dude, I met this really sweet girl last night.
Adam: ok?
Chris: She's living with me now.
Adam: what?! Ok, I need details!!!!!! 😱
Chris: it's a long story.... lunch?
Adam: I'm free.... but I'm bringing Cerise. Daddy daughter time.

Chris met up with Adam at the same cafe he took Quinn to. He, Adam, and Cerise sat at the booth and ordered lunch.
"Ok, spill." Adam said. "Her name is Quinn, she's 36, she teaches Sign Language.... and she's pregnant." Chris replied.
"She's pregnant?! Who's kid?" Adam asked.
Chris nodded. "It's her ex's baby but he's a real tool and signed over his parental rights as soon as he found out."
"What are you gonna do?" Adam asked.
"Honestly bub? I.... I wanna be there. She doesn't deserve to go through this alone. I've never felt like this before. It's like... she took over my whole mind and body." Chris said.
"Someone's been bit by the love bug." Adam teased. Chris nodded, knowing it was true.
Cerise hadn't been paying attention to the conversation. She was too busy scarfing down her french fries to notice what they were talking about.
She handed Adam her plate to show him that she was done. Adam placed the plate under his own. He began to clean Cerise up with baby wipes as he talked. "What's she like?" He asked.
Chris went on and on about Quinn making it obvious he had already fallen head over heels in love with her.
Cerise, who had started listening after a bit, piped up with a small simple quote. "Olaf says... "True love is putting someone else before yourself."
