Run in

I head to the kitchen with Jessie in my arms "so what we hungry for" I say looking down at her. I open the fridge and scan everything "uh I need to go grocery shopping" I say to myself
"Mommy I want pizza" she says looking up at me.
" OK how about this, we're going to go pick up some cheesy bread from Little Caesars then go to your god moms" I say and grab her a koolade pouch. I grab my purse and head to the door. I flick off the light and open the door to see jays sister"
" oh shit you scared the fuck outta me" I say
" titi Kae" Jessie holds out her arms out to her. She grabs her " my bad I should've called I ain't know u was on ya way out"
" yea we're going to get food you wanna chill with us" I ask her
"Nah it's ii I just wanted to stop by, check on you guys" she says. I step out my apartment and shut the door. "Okay I guess we can walk out together" we get in the elevator. She looks at me and smirks.
"What" I say out of curiosity
"Jays in town this weekend for a show"
"Don't start with this kae, I'm not going to see him"
"Come on you guys have to work it out it's been like 4 years" she pauses and looks down at Jessie "she's almost 4 isn't that crazy 4 years of not knowing her father" she says.
"It's not that simple, or easy you act like he wants to meet her" I say. ding the elevator doors open and we walk off
"How isn't it simple that shit was in the past your keeping her away from her father. You know how much better she could be living" she says trying to keep her voice down in the lobby.
"give me my daughter" she hands me her.
"First off stupid I'm not keeping Jessie away from shit i still got the same number second don't come to my house telling me what's better for Jessie when jay hasn't done a dam thing, I did this for myself I got my self threw college I graduate next month that was me. I worked my ass off to get us this apartment in a good neighborhood at that. And Yea I hear you talking about how many years it's been but all those years it's been me independently taking care of her. I don't need your opinion or your advice" I said and Left to my orange Jeep strapped in Jessie then got in. "Ouuu mommy you used no no words" she says from the back seat
"My bad Jess" I start the car "and I better not hear you repeat them" I say and look back at her. She puts her hand on her head "I know mommy". I turn back around.

Soon we arrive
I unlock Brookes door with the spare key I have. Brooke's apartment was nice it was a studio with high ceilings. the kitchen was sexy as fuck she had black granite countertops, a smart fridge and her leather stools to her island were cute. I use to live next door but I needed another bedroom for Jessie... so I moved two floors up. I place the pizza box on the island then grab a plate from the cabinet and give it to Jessie. I lift her up to sit on the stool.
"BROOOOKLYN WHERE YOU AT" I yell
She comes out the bathroom.
"Bitch stop yelling in my house like that"
She gives me a hug.
"This my house too don't play ya self" I say. I go back and grab myself a slide
"Tell me why Kae popped at my house talking bad shit" I say
"Uh what this bitch say" she says while giving Jessie a kiss
"She was tellin me her opinion about how she thinks I'm keeping Jessie away from jay" I say
"He did that to himself the fuck"
"Exactly Brooke then guess what this dumb bitch said" I say

"She said Jessie could be living so much better, like wtf don't try and belittle wtf I've done for my daughter" I say
"When her brother hasn't done shit, wow lmao she thinks just because you allowed her to be in Jessie's life she has say in anything" she says
"Uh so annoying I blacked on her"
"I would've snuffed that bitch" she says. I look at her we both die of laughter.
"You ain't shit I can't be doing shit like that" I said
"Sis you needa have some fun, come to the club with me tonight" she says

"Come On we haven't gone out in so long"
"Because we got shit to do can't be in the club every week"
"Nav cmon I'll buy your drinks all night"
"I mean my moms taking Jessie tonight" I say

                        Later that day
Me and Brooke pull up to the club I'm wearing tan silky tight dress with gold heals and straighten hair. Brooke is wearing and tight black and green sequin dress and purple wrap around heals.
"Can we take pictures"
"Yea" I take her picture and she takes mine
We walk into the club the first thing we do is go to the bar. We order our drinks.
"it's so nice to be out" I say
"Facto, you never have fun anymore" she said and I give here a look
"Ik" she says . Our drinks come so we sip on them vining to the blasting music. After we go to the dance floor and start dancing. As I'm dancing this dark skin with waves comes up behind me. so I turn around to check him out he's wearing this sexy ass outfit and he smells so good. After a minute of dancing together he leans in close "so you want to hang out with me and my boy in our section" he says
"Hmm i don't know can my friend come with me" I ask
"Yea for sure" he says and takes my hand to lead me to where we're going.
"So what's your name" I ask
"Kelo and yours?" He says
"Toni" I respond
"I like that for you" he smiles "yea my bro boutta preform tonight then we got a after party after the clubs close" he says
" y'all are lit" I say
" I mean that was my way of inviting you" he says jokingly
"That's so sweat of you but I can't be staying out all night" I say
"Awe that sucks you was boutta be the highlight of my night" he says and stops licking his lips
" what's that supposed to mean I'm not some groupie" I giggle but he could tell I was serious.
"Nah it's not even like that" he says and pulls me in by the waist "you just beautiful and I was looking forward to spending time with you" and he leans in to give me a kiss, but Brooke comes outta nowhere "I know you didn't just leave me bitch" she says. I turn towards her " oh shut up I was finna text you" I say and we continue to walk soon enough we make it to his section. He sits down so we follow he then pours us drinks. "Hurd you big baller" brook says he looks at her and smiles "and this shit on the house. From where we're sitting you can see the stage. All of a sudden the music turns off and the dj says "Everybody make some noise we got jay critch in the building"  I roll my eyes while looking at Brooke and mouth "can we leave" 
"Bitch no" she says
I turn back around to look at the stage and I see jay walk on the stage. It was weird I avoided playing his songs kinda and him in general, but there he was less that 15 feet away. We hadn't talked for a few years. All I could do was sit and watch. His stage presence was so good I was kinda proud of him. Nah scratch that fuck him. I went to sit on the couch with kelo and he pours me a glass. I immediately got in bad bitch mode. When I sat down I scooted as close as possible to kelo then put my legs over his.
"So is that your friend on stage right now" I ask him while taking the glass from him
"Yea he's good right , watch in 2018 he's gonna be a xxl freshman" he says
"yea he's ight" I say rolling my eyes then chugging the whole drink. "You know what I like this song" I say getting up doing a little twerk move
*after 15 minutes
The loud rapping stops and young ma starts playing.
" Hurd you already getting the party started" a familiar voice says from in back of me. I turn to see jay standing in the doorway with a bottle and 5 other  men. And in that moment it felt like time slowed down and the music stopped playing. I knew if I stayed with kelp I would eventually run into him, so why did I ?
