"A quirk apprehension test?!"

The 1-A students exclaimed at the words of their teacher. (Y/N), in the other hand, remained silent. Not like she didn't care about the test. In fact, she was being consumed by the idea of using her quirk. Aizawa continued his explanation of how this test was similar to middle school's, with the only difference of being allowed to use their quirks. He asked the deadly boy, also known as Bakugou and maybe someone called him Kacchan, to throw a ball as far as he could with his power. The blonde did so in a very...unique way.

"Why 'Die'...?" (Y/N) asked herself, ignoring the length he reached. The class was more enthusiastic about the use of their quirks after the big show.

"Awesome!" "That looks really fun!" "This is the department of heroics to you!"

Those were some of the exclamations the teens around her made. Everyone seemed very eager to try it out by themselves. Yet again, Aizawa had a trick under his long and weird scarf.

"So, you find this funny, huh? Well then..." his aura grew darker, a crazy look on his eyes. "Let's make this a competition! The one who's last at the end of the exam...will be expelled."

The air grew heavier over the students. (Y/N) would have had no problem with this if it weren't for how inconsistent her power was. She could try and use it without being too flashy like that one laser kid. However, would it creep her classmates out? She wished not. Maybe if she used little to none of it, she could be able to pass all of them without overpowering.

Now was the time to put in practice what her grandfather taught her.

First test: 50 meters dash

Most of the students had already done the race when (Y/N)'s turn came. She saw what her girlfriends could do with their quirk and praised them when they finished.

"Your quirk is so impressive, Tsu!" She told her as the frog girl made her way to the rest of the group. "I'd love to have such abilities."

The black-haired girl flushed slightly by her praises. "Don't say that, (Y/N). I bet your quirk is better than mine." she let out a ribbit "Mine is hardly a mutation quirk."

"Don't- Don't say that. Every quirk is great on their own!" (Y/N) evaded Tsuyu's last words.

Her name was called next with another boy called Shouto Todoroki. She looked at the bicolored boy to her left in awe. He was so fancy compared to everyone here! And with (Y/N)'s experiences with people, she had never met anyone with half and half hair, eyes and even a...scar?

"Pretty..."(Y/N) couldn't contain her words from coming out. It was hardly a whisper that not many could have caught. With her luck, he was one of those who could.

Todoroki immediately turned his gaze to her. "What...?" He gave her a quizzical look. Did she just call him...pretty?

Her cheeks started to heat up, her sweat taking consistency of wax. "Ah! Well, you- you have really nice hair and- and your eyes are really catching." she started to stutter, her voice going thinner and thinner by every word she said. "I've- I've never met anyone that looked like...you..."

Shouto remained silent trying to process everything that came out of this very nervous girl. Just how much of that did she really mean? More importantly, why? Before he could ask her, Aizawa announced the start.

(Y/N) had sweated enough wax for her to use as a quick route to the finishing line. She manipulated it from under her shoes to make a kind of trace to slide over. Todoroki used the same technique with his ice but with more intensity. Both of them crossed the line with hardly a second of difference.
