The new kid walks up to the teacher’s desk and sets a note down. As he set the note down the teacher stood up to announce the new student.

“I would like to welcome Will to our class.” Ms. Brooks said then sat back down not caring.

Will looked around for an empty desk, and that’s when I realized the last open desk was behind me.  He started walking toward the desk, and I started talking to the people around me again to not look too interested.  As soon as I heard him sit down, the late bell rung declaring that class has started.

“Hello class, I am Ms. Brooks your English teacher for the year, today you will be taking a pre-test so I can see what we need to work on.”  Ms. Brooks said in the most annoying voice ever.

When she started handing the papers to the rows, I realized I would have to pass one back to Will.  What is wrong with me, I never get obsessed over a guy, ugh. I got my paper and passed one back to Will; he said nothing.  It only took me half the class to finish the pre-test and then I turned it in.  We were allowed to do anything for the rest of the class period, so I asked to go to the library.  I stopped by the restrooms on my way there.  Just when I walked out of the stall, I felt like someone was watching me.  I turned my head and saw Will standing in the entrance to the girl’s restroom.

“What are you doing in here?” I asked.

“I came to see the pretty girl who sat in front of me.” He answered with no hesitation.

I blushed and I’m pretty sure he noticed because he walked toward me.

“So what’s this pretty girl’s name?” He asked.

“My name is Rosie.” I replied quickly while washing my hands.

“That’s a pretty name, would Rosie like to show me the way to the library?” He asked suspiciously.

“Sure.” I said.

I went to walk past him, but he moved in the way.  I went to go the other way and he followed my movement.

“Or, we could stay here and get to know each other better.” He stated more than asking.

“I’m sorry Will, but I know little about you, so why don’t you get out of my way and let me go.” I said angrily.

“Feisty, I like them feisty.” He said moving forward.

I ducked under his arm quickly and ran into the hallway, glad to see other people out there.  He didn’t walk out after me, so I took that as my chance to walk to the library by myself.  When I got there I went to the back corner and pulled out my phone to text Alison and Hannah what happened.  They were very surprised and decided to meet me at the library at the end of class so we could walk together to second period, P.E. I loved P.E., and so did Alison and Hannah.  We were all very athletic and could pick up a sport quickly. They asked more questions about my encounter in the restroom and I answered their questions easily, but I was still a little worried about what had happened.

“Don’t turn around.” Hannah whispered.

I of course didn’t listen and looked over to see Will staring at me.

“Ugh, why can’t he just leave me alone?  There are many other girls.”  I whined.

“Just give him a chance Rosie.  You can’t be without a boyfriend forever.”  Alison said.  Hannah just stood there shaking her head in agreement.

Of course she had to bring that up.  My last boyfriend cheated on me and it broke my heart terribly. I was stuck in bed for a full day thinking of how I was going to handle this at school the next day.  I had decided to walk back into school with my head held high and call him a lot of words in front of his new girlfriend, and most of the school.  From that experience, I decided to not have another boyfriend while in high school because they turn out to be d*cks normally.

“Ok, I’ll talk to him after class.” I said because I knew they wouldn’t drop the conversation.

Class went by way to fast.  We played volleyball, boys vs girls.  Unfortunately, the boy’s team won by a few points and that was upsetting.  I did what Alison and Hannah wanted me to do, and walked over to Will after class.

“Hi.” I said nervous.

“I see you came back, you miss me already?” He smirked.

“No, my friends told me to try to be nice, so here I am.” I grumbled.

“Well, that wasn’t very nice, but I’ll try starting over.  Hi, I’m Will, and you are?” he asked.

“Hi, I’m Rosie.” I said a little too quickly.

“Would you maybe want to go gent lunch with me tomorrow?” he asked a little unsure of himself.

“Sure.” I agreed to end the conversation.

“I’ll take you to lunch tomorrow then, during lunch period.” He addressed.

“Sounds great, see you then.” I said a little sarcastically.

I watched him walk away, till I heard giggling behind me.

“How much did you hear?” I asked my crazy friends.

“Enough to know you have a date tomorrow.” Hannah exclaimed.

The rest of the day went by like a breeze, except I have every class with Will except art as my last period. I was happy when it was over with, so I could get home and think about what I had gotten myself into.  I had a date tomorrow with the new kid at school but also the cutest kid in school.  What if he doesn’t like girls into gangs?  Why am I asking this, it’s not like I like him.  He tried to corner me in a bathroom. Come on get your head on straight Rosie.
