Happy Valentines! Because I'm in a mood to write about the Scotland Yard trio, this one-shot will feature them all. This takes place prior to Greg meeting Sherlock and is based on my headcanon.

Edit: Changed the ex-wife's name because Heidi just didn't sound right to me.

Greg was sitting on his bed, popping chocolates into his mouth as he did.  The chocolates were given to him by his wife, Michelle, who had left the house for a bit. He swallowed the chocolate he was eating as he suddenly got a call. He then picked up the phone.

"Hello?" The voice on the other end sounded a bit nervous. "Greg? H-hi." Greg rose an eyebrow. "Phil? What's up?"

He smiled as the younger man cleared his throat. "Uh, well... so, you know that new detective that joined the Yard recently? Sally was her name?"

Greg nodded. "Yeah, she's kinda cute. Think I'm a bit old for her though." He chuckled.

The forensic scientist chuckled as well. "Y-yeah... Um.. I wanted to ask her out for Valentines Day, and wanted your advice since you're happily married and all."

Greg smiled. "Well isn't that interesting? Phillip Anderson, asking me for advice."

Anderson blushed on the other end but nonetheless continued. "Well? What advice do have?"

Greg smirked and ruffled his combed hair. "Well, really, you just have to be yourself.." He then paused. "Well, be a little more than yourself. Be Phillip Anderson +1."

Anderson nodded. "Phillip Anderson +1. Got it. Thanks, Greg!" He smiled brightly, then hung up.

"And so that's how I got Phillip and Sally together for the first time." Greg smiled as he walked home with the Holmes brothers and John.

Mycroft rose an eyebrow. "That seriously happened? Really?"

Greg nodded. "Yep. You can ask him for proof."

Sherlock wrinkled his nose. "No thanks. I think the street would appreciate it if its IQ wasn't lowered."  He then paused and sighed. "Speak of the devil."

The quartet looked as Anderson and Sally walked down the opposite street. For a second, Sherlock thought he saw Anderson wink at Greg as they passed him.

Maybe there was more to the half-insane ex-forensic scientist then meets the eye..

Happy Valentine's Day, fellow Sherlockians! Hope it's going well. If it isn't, hope it gets better. And if nobody reads this, then I guess I'm just talking to myself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
