"Any new news about the incident yesterday?" Anna asked.
We were currently having breakfast down in the buffet area, and Anna and her friends were sitting with us. I had pancakes dripped in chocolate syrup, and my empty stomach was pretty much devouring it like fish in water. The teachers told us that we will proceed with the trip as planned, and sadly, our time here in Amsterdam came to an end. We were travelling by bus today towards France, Paris. Despite the current circumstances, I couldn't help but be excited upon seeing one of the wonders of the world. We all woke up early today, to pack everything left outside.
"Not really. It's like, the world doesn't even remember what happened yesterday. The news aren't mentioning anything regarding it, and people have pretty much forgotten about it." Wade replied . I looked up at him and took a minute studying his profile. He was handsome alright. With natural blonde hair and blue-green eyes, he was easy on the eyes. What I was confused about, is why I'm having a sudden interest in him. The fall yesterday must've messed up my brain. As it wasn't messed up enough already.
"I can't really eat with you staring at me like that, Red." He said with a smirk planted on his face, and I rolled my eyes, probably red like a tomato by now. He just chuckled and resumed eating. I looked over at Harp, only to see she wasn't there. I ran my eyes over the table, then the hall, but she wasn't here. I looked over Aly, and he was perfectly eating his breakfast.
"Hey, Aly? Where's Harper?" I asked and he paused mid-bite. He searched for her briefly, before abandoning his breakfast completely and stood up. He exited the breakfast hall and disappeared from sight. I looked at Wade, to see him standing already, gesturing for me to follow him. I got up and trailed after him towards the elevator. Thankfully, it was already on this floor and we quickly got in. I fidgeted with my hands, as Harper disappearing without telling anyone wasn't her nature. We were silent throughout the whole way, as I was too worried to spring up a conversation, and by the looks of it, Wade was too. The elevator finally dinged open, and I ran towards our room. I was about to open the door, when it opened and Aly came out, looking out of breath.
"She's not here." He told me and my worry increased tenfold. Where the hell is she? He ran towards the elevator and was pressing the button repeatedly, clearly aggravated.
"The lift's taking too long. Let's just go through the stairs." Wade said we all went towards the door that led to the staircase. Aly was the first one to open the door, and when he did, he sucked in a huge breath and had wide eyes. I followed his line of sight, and I understood why he had the reaction.
Harper.
I pushed Aly out of the way and sprinted down the stairs that abruptly turned to the other direction, going downwards. Harper laid unconscious at the end of the stairs, and as I reached her, I dropped down to my knees and took her face in my hands. I shook her and slapped her cheek lightly with one hand. She wasn't moving.
"She's not moving!" I said, through blurry eyes, and raised my voice a little. Aly finally snapped out of his reverie and rushed towards us, and dropped on the other side of her. He said her name a few times, and then took her limp body and ran towards our room. I felt arms around me that urged me to stand up, and I looked up at Wade.
"Red, get up. We're taking her to the room. Come on." He said gently and I nodded. This was the first time something has happened to her, and I was never scared as much as I am now. She has to be okay.
We both went towards our room, to see Harper awake and looking at Aly through squinted eyes. I was so relived, I almost collapsed. Stair falls never ended good, and I was ecstatic to see her awake and moving. I went towards her blurry eyed, and took her hands into mine.
