I scrambled over the pile of scrap metal, heart pounding. Hearing the man that I had just stolen from yelling into the night. Fortunately he didn't seem to notice me. My foot shifted and a pile of trash I was standing on started to fall. Within the newly dropped pile, I noticed a PDA (Personal Data Archive) in the mess. It didn't seem powered, so I didn't know what was on it. I decided to take it with me, maybe I can find a port to charge it. I looked at what I had stolen, a small, round metal ball. Worth a few Units at least. I check my balance, 87 Units. Almost enough for a Nutrient Block. And that's counting what I just stole. I guess if I can get this PDA to work and wipe it, it might be able to feed me for the next week. Things seemed to have died down so I slinked away quickly. No one seemed to be on the street now. I suppose I can't blame them, the streets are dangerous at night. Quite a bit of violence can happen over certain items. Not to mention, there are thieves like me roaming. I walked off toward the distribution center, and turned in my metal orb. It got me 17 Units and was classified under "trinkets". I hope whatever rich person's hands it gets into hates it. Or it could be going to the Smelting District, best to steer clear of there. Either way I was paid, and traded my 90 Units for a Nutrient Block. Yum tasteless nothing I thought to myself. At least Chiron didn't flavor these horribly, they could have made it taste like manure. I checked my balance again, 14 Units. I'll have to go another day without food, or get a really good haul tomorrow. I walked over to one of the free electricity ports and plugged in the PDA. The screen flickered to life and showed 14 files on it. Most of them were labeled CLASSIFIED. So I did what anyone would do and looked through them. As soon as I opened the first on the PDA made a pinging sound. Ignoring it, I read the file. It showed a blueprint of the Chiron Towers. Why would someone be carrying around a blueprint for the towers? I thought to myself. The Other documents were locked by a code. Doesn't seem to hard to hack... I powered up my encryptor glove, my father's last gift to me before he went and got himself killed over a OR-22 service droid. I knew the droid could have feed us for a year, but we weren't the only ones after it. The entire block was running toward it, carrying sharp pieces of metal and makeshift spears. Eventually the Enforcers came and cleared out the area, but not before my father took a spear to the stomach. With the holo screen flicked up, I did a quick run through of common passwords. Took only 15 seconds and I got it. 1842, fortunately it was a number code and not a word one. I skimmed through the rest of the files. Mostly legal documents and orders. But one was out of place, labeled CB-43, nothing else. I looked in it and it contained more blueprints. But not building ones. It showed a cyborg-esk droid, detailing all of its various attachments and weapons. And then the windows were blasted in...
