The phone vibrated as I waited for the person from the other side to accept the video call. I leaned by the wall on the rooftop while watching the screen, boredness filled my mind.
"Hi!" A blonde haired friend called out as soon as his face popped up on the screen. "How are you doing, Yoonji?" Jimin asked with a grin, eyes nearly closed, showing his teeth.
Park Jimin is my childhood friend since kindergarten. We always hang out together so much that my brother, Jung Hoseok decided to call us twins. We didn't mind since we were really close.
"I'm feeling great!" I exclaimed. "I had a free shower in class." I joked and laughed slightly. "It was really refreshing."
"It's not funny." He also laughed despite his words just now. Then the joy on his face became a frown."Did you got bullied again?"
His expressions changed faster than a girl's mood swings during period.
"Calm down," I smiled to assure him that I was fine. "It wasn't as bad as the pranks before."
Jimin's frown gets worse, if that was possible. "I told you to report when you're bullied!" He scolded.
"I can't when the main bully is the person who this school worships so much." I reasoned. I sighed and complained, "Besides, they think it's 'fun'."
"It's not even fun."
I sniggered as a response to Jimin's reply. "Where are you right now?."
"I'm at the school's garden." He switched the phone's front camera to the back camera, and showed his surroundings.
He was below a giant greeny tree, and flowerbeds fulfilled the land. Students walked along the path, some with their friends, chatting, some were just alone, admiring the flowers.
"It's pretty, isn't it?" Jimin praised while still moving his phone around. I only nodded, knowing he could see me even though I couldn't see him. He finally switched the phone's camera back to show his face. "No matter how beautiful this school is, I still regret moving here and unable to protect you."
The years when he was still here, he always stood up for me against the bullies. He ended up being the one bullied for it.
"I don't want you to." I frowned. "If you come back, you'll get problems." I warned. "I don't want to burden you again."
"That's okay." Jimin smiled. "Best friends shares the same memories, right?"
"I don't want us to share bad memories." I pouted.
Jimin laughed lightly again. "If we're together, bad things turns to our greatest memories."
"Sheesh, you always say those things." I laughed as nostalgia slowly pokes me, trying to make my eyes an opened faucet.
Jimin only smiled and said his farewell. "Don't cry, okay?"
"I never cry!"
Another train of laughs passed through my ears. "Bye, Yoonie~"
I smiled and waited for him to hung up. A toot rang from the phone, saying that he already hung up. Then, I sniffled as droplets of tears flowed down from the edge of my eyes when nostalgia hits me.
"I just said I never cry..." I mumbled. I used the sleeves of my sweater to wipe of the tears. "-and I'm already crying." I huffed as I silently accused myself being a liar.
Then I noticed someone who was watching me through his glasses. He looked so confused and clueless. Others will probably just mock at me, so maybe he never saw me and have only heard my name?
