Life after prison

"Doctor, doctor she's waking up" she heard a woman say, as she tried opening her eyes the first thing she saw was light and then she spoke, "Is it done?" "Yes, it is" the doctor said, "so life begins now", she said with a slight laugh.

She took her private jet and they went to Pennsylvania, she hadn't spoken to Boss in two years, after eight months in prison and the death of her lover, she was practically a void, she had traveled to Asia for a new life but was taunted by the thought of not being with Kim and Nana. She took her car and the driver set forth towards her grandparents house, there she saw Boss and he was rather acting weird but to be honest she had changed her appearance and he wasn't aware, they sat outside and she told him everything after the long story adding reasonable evidence and incidents that could prove she was telling the truth till he finally believed, she had asked after Nana when she heard Kim's bark, "Kimmy dear, missed me" the dog had learnt her smell and by now knew her even if she changed her whole appearance she was still Cherise, "Boss, I asked you a question didn't I, where is my Nana?", she asked, "she dead, like in the grave all because of Bradley, he killed her, the worse part is I couldn't do anything as he went crazy about to he jumped off the 8 storied building, there's more she left a note for you", he replied making her speak, "how'd it happen? , explain in detail",  "well, after you were sent prison, we came home, she had refused to eat, she stayed hungry for a few days which made her entry to the hospital. The doctor had advised that she should get some food and control her blood pressure as it had reduced, we had gonna home and she sat under the stars telling me stories of your childhood and reliving memories of the happy days, she said a lot of things saying she was happy and proud of your effort and all the sacrifices, she had dreamt of the  day you would be released and would come out of that pit hole and then she came closer to me and said, "please, help my grand baby get justice please help me get revenge on Bradley", I was stunned but willing to help. We made a plan from the info that we had got, we decided to turn Bradley's team against him one by one, guaranteeing their safety and slowly sending them to other countries to start a new life. We talked to all of  them and one after the other they left the team and left the country, the plan was going great till we learnt that Bradley started using drugs and that someone had leached us out to him. We had tried keeping  low key making sure he didn't harm us, till one day when Nana had went out without telling anyone, we spent three weeks looking for her till we had gotten a video from an unknown number, not so surprised we saw Nana tied up in a chair and Bradley taking weed nonstop, he told us to bring a million dollars for him at the construction site near the highway, it was an 8 storied building. We brought the money he had asked for and did the exchange but as he let go off Nana, she ran towards me and then he gave her three shots to the back and  while she was bleeding she said, "cherise never knew her dad, give her my diary I hid it in my room and both of you read it and stay happy", then she died" he said wiping the tears off his eyes and continued, "I wanted to kill Bradley on the spot, as he back was turned I took his gun and threatened to shoot him but he had other plans. Not minding anything I pulled the trigger but there was no bullet and the next thing he did was jump off the 8 storied building shouting, "Cherise, I'll see you in hell" and landed on the ground. I took Nana's body away from there and then arranged a small funeral ceremony, I went to the lawyer to see if you could attend it but he told me no body knew where you were and that you had escaped" he said, this was the first time she had curse after her torment in her cell, she couldn't cry she sat there stunned and amazed at what happened not knowing how to react, "and the dairy? What happened to it", she asked, not saying a word, he took her to Nana's room and opened her cupboard but where the diary was kept had a lock, she had gone to her old room and brought out the spare key and unlocked it. They took out the diary and she said, "there are a million pages in here" then their attention was diverted to the page with a highlight.

I have just made a discovery I think my past is flashing over my face. I mustn't go on plane doubt and suspicion, I'll get a test done but if it comes out as I thought, then who would I break the news to her when her mom had tried to forget it.

Today I got the test done and as I had suspected I'm right, how would I break the news to them. I can feel things are going to change. I pray I can gather the courage.

I have taken time to observe him and its like everything is as it was. It hurts my soul and heart when he calls me Nana, I'm his mother my long lost son, who we thought was dead is actually taking care of me, my joy know no bounds. This would be my last entry as I know my death is near, I am old now so I know. I know that I will die in peace, I've found my son, he may go by the name Boss but he's actually my CHRISTIANE MARCOS RANALDE, my Cherise and my Christine are going to be together, if I die now I know my grand baby has met her dad.

They closed the book and an awkward silence filled through the room. It was as if they could feel the presence of Nana right then and there, she wondered if this was a new life for her.
