"But what if I get bad mean comments that make me want to cry myself to sleep?" I questioned, my voice raised slightly higher than it normally was. Normally I sounded like a cave so this could be a step up for me. But then again, I could sound like a teenage boy who didn't hit puberty yet so perhaps it would be a bad idea. Dang it. Talking cave I choose you.
Chloe sighed, "You're not gonna get bad mean comments".
I tried again, "But what if I get creepy men commenting on my posts?"
"You're not gonna get-"
"But if you did. They'd be from me" Jared interrupted with a proud grin. I glared at him in return and he put his hands up in mock surrender.
Oh I'd give him something to grin about if he kept talking like that.
Clover shot him a daring look and continued, "But IF you did, we'd probably track him down on the internet, find out where he lives and probably murder his family or something, I don't know the specifics yet".
I rolled my eyes, some day soon these people who I called my best friends were going to make me go to hospital for the amount of eye rolling I do at them.
After the performance I did at the cafe, Clover was still convinced I should make one but thankfully said that she'd gave me a couple days to mull over my thoughts.
A couple days meaning one.
So the day after, we gathered in my room to discuss the plan.
Knowing Clover would do this, I made sure my room was at least 70% presentable and hey, at least I could see my floor, which I hadn't seen for a solid three months. My walls were coated in a faded yellow colour which Jared actually helped me paint. Surprising I know. It took around 3 more extra hours then it needed, thanks to Jared messing around and accidentally spilling paint on the ceiling.
How he did it, I did not ask and I need not know.
We had to paint over the ceiling in white and yet you could still see a faint yellow splodge bang right in the centre. My comfy bed was situated next to the window and currently had Clover sprawled on top of it, with my laptop facing her. She was focused on whatever she was looking at on the screen and lets hope it wasn't my search history.
Jared was currently taking up my desk chair and had his feet on the wooden desk beside it. My music sheets were probably all gonna get stinked up because of his socks now.
"Hey Violet?" Clover asked in an uncertain voice.
"Yeah?", I replied lazily as I was sitting cross-legged on the floor. A bird perched outside the window ledge and tweeted noisily at me so as any sane person would do, I attempted to have an intense staring contest.
"Why did you watch a video on how to fix a hole in the wall without anyone knowing? And oh my god wait, what is that?!".
"What!?!", my eyes widened and I let out an embarrassed laugh, both Jared and Clover looked at me inquistively , "Ha ha you see the things is-" and I lunged for my laptop.
Clover screamed as I wrestled my laptop from her grasp and I could vaguely hear Jared yelling girl fight and something along the lines of take off your clothes. I ignored him and was struggling to reach the device with all my secrets. I knew I should have deleted my search history! Keeping it never turns out good.
My habits of never going to the gym showed, when my arms flailed weakly in attempt to win back my laptop. Clover kicked away my hands and held my possession high up in her hands and was using one of her hands to do some kind of tribal yell.
I could feel Jared wrapping an arm around my waist as I tried to squirm out of it and let out a string of insults. "Don't hold me back Jared" I warned, "I swear to god I will end you!".
Clover choked back a laugh and continued to read off my laptop's search history, "Cat videos, slime satisfaction videos, cooking videos. Wow, so many goddamn slime videos. Gosh girl maybe making this channel will also save your social life".
My body slumped in defeat and Jared pulled me to the floor to sit on his lap; his arms still loosely hung around my waist. I sat back in his embrace and tried to explain myself, "I was just bored one day and looked at like one slime video on instagram and soon enough I was scrolling through those videos like no tomorrow. You watch one of those and you're like a goner for the whole day".
She waved her hand dismissively and replied, "No no, although that is weird... I want to know more about the hole in the wall thing. What's your landlord going to say about that?"
"Uhh" I started and stared at the small dent in the wall behind Clover's head. It wasn't very noticeable but obvious when pointed out.
Just a couple days before my big performance and everything, I was super stressed out, as I wanted to compose the piece myself. I hadn't done it in a while so all my knowledge on it was fading in and out. My habit when I'm very close to tearing my hair out of my own head, is that I like to throw a few miscellaneous objects about; just to relieve some hardcore stress. Unfortunately for the wall, I seemed to have grabbed a brick -god knows how it got there- and threw it into its direction. It crashed quite satisfyingly actually and I wished I had taken a video somehow. The wall's surface cracked away a bit and left quite a dent. Thus leading me to look on the trusty internet for some help.
"Just casual interest?" I offered as a reply instead. They didn't need to know what I did in my spare time.
"Sure..." she replied but continued to look at me suspiciously. Her fingers typed quickly on my laptop, "Okay so I think I'll design your channel art and everything and then Jared" she put a finger to her lips with a wary expression, "Jared... I'm sure we'll find a role for you".
Clover rocked anything art related. She took it as her major for college and was fascinated with all the types of art, whether it was painting or graphic design. She actually painted a mural for her college by hand and without tracing anything beforehand.
Meanwhile, I couldn't draw a turkey hand without coming out with wobbly lines for petes sake. Therefore I trusted her with my life, well, art related life.
Jared scoffed in disbelief, "Glad to know I have such an important role in this whole fiasco".
I turned to face him and patted his cheek gently, "You are very important".
He smirked at me, "Thanks pumpkin".
Clover put a hand to her head in fake exhaustion, "Gosh no stop. Being. Cute. You're nearly as cute as me and Dylan and no one can be cuter than me and him. I will not allow such monstrocity".
"We're so not cute" I denied quickly.
Jared shook his head in disagreement, "I'd say we're pretty cute".
"Yeah, just me".
"I beg to differ".
"I'd like to see you beg on your knees".
"Ooh kinky".
"STOP IT YOU GUYS".
We all laughed and when I threw my head back, I purposefully knocked it into Jared's jaw. He let out a groan and I smiled at him angelically which he shook his head at in amusement.
"You're going to be the death of me" he muttered in a whisper. I think it was more to him than me though. He glanced over at Clover who had her tongue stuck out in concentration, her fingers typing at an insane speed.
"Good".
