"Alright, alright! Can you all shut up now? It stopped being funny ages ago. Let's continue this, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can go home and sleep, I'm tired. I don't want to be doing this for much longer." Lovino sighed. He wasn't comfortable being the only person not laughing in the room. The others settled down slightly and Alfred flipped a few pages of the book until he found something that seemed to capture his interest.
"Fine... Dear dairy! I sort of wish I was closer to Italy brothers, I want to tell them stories of their grandfather. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, it might just bring up bad memories. If South Italy is anything like his grandfather, there will be tears. For now, I'll keep my stories to myself. It's probably for the best. - Yao." Alfred read aloud.
"There won't be any tears! I don't cry over anything..." Lovino responded, looking slightly embarrassed about the comment about him. He walked over to Yao and smiled gently. "I'd like to hear what you have to say sometime. I won't cry. I'm sure my brother would love to hear as well, we'll have to set up a date for you to come over. We can show you around our country, if you'd like."
People stared at the two having a small conversation, Feliciano just sort of stood there and listened in, silently. They eventually settled on a date and decided to meet up next week. People were shocked to see the, usually grumpy, boy smile so cheerfully at someone. The staring was only stopped when Lovino grabbed the book from Alfred and read the page on the opposite side, not caring about if it was interesting or not.
"Dear Diary, I know it's selfish of me, but the reason I don't recognize Sealand as a country is that I want to keep him safe with me for as long as possible before he tries to become independent like America did... The thought scares me a lot, I know he hates me but... I..." Lovino trailed off, "Why do you write so much? It's less of a diary entry and more of an essay."
"I have a lot to write, it's better to be thorough with your writing than leave out potentially important details! Let me read one of yours! Dear Diary, sometimes I wonder if I could just be as happy and carefree as Feliciano, maybe someone would love me as everyone else loves him. I cant-" Arthur started reading before the snatching the book back from his hands.
"We don't need to read that one! It's none of your business what's in MY diary! This was about you!" Lovino started tearing up. Feliciano hurried over and pat him on the back in an attempt to calm him down.
Everyone else was extremely confused about what to do. Some avoided eye contact with the two bickering nations, others tried to calm one of the two down, others tried to meditate and some just talked among themselves, deciding to ignore the whole situation entirely. Gilbert eventually gave up on the calming down idea and gently took the book away from Lovino.
"Let's carry on, we're ALL just hangry. Maybe a little tired too. I'll carry this on! Let's find a happy one and improve the mood, Ja? Dear Diary, I'm going to find Nemo! I'm going to do it! And I'm also going to kill that bastard barracuda that killed basically his entire family! I'm gonna do it! - Alfred Jones" Gilbert read aloud, earning a few laughs from people. The two countries stopped arguing and smiled slightly, clearly feeling a little better. Alfred hid his head in his hands out of embarrassment and laughed awkwardly.
"I wrote that a few days ago... I didn't think anyone would see it..." He groaned, face red as the stripes on his flag. He ended up joining in the laughing too though, being able to see how funny it actually was.
"So... Are we just going to ignore the diary entries by those two? I feel like that needs to be addressed." Natalia (Belarus) asked. She had been zoned out for the past half an hour as she was getting slightly hungry and was dreaming about dinner.
"It doesn't need to be addressed at all. Lovino, you agree with me on that, correct?" England replied, looking over to Lovino to make his point.
"What diary entries? I don't remember any diary entries." He feigned ignorance and just didn't talk more about it, not wanting anyone to start worrying over him like people usually do when they find out something like that. He believed they should show it without having to be told.
"Alright then... Could I possibly read next?" Natalia asked, holding her hands out to retrieve the book. Gilbert passed it to her. She closed it and then opened to a random page, she began reading, following the words with her finger.
"Dear Diary, Bruder and I went shopping earlier today. I found a toy aeroplane in the window of a store and he bought it for me. He really is the best Bruder I could ever ask for. I hope I grow up big and strong like him one day. - Ludwig." She read. She cast a gentle smile to Germany to, who was looking at the ground.
"I was still a child when I wrote that..." He stated. Gilbert was grinning ear to ear, clearly getting an ego boost out of the diary entry. He hugged his brother excitedly. Nations smiled, enjoying the wholesome moment between the two brothers.
A/N: I am so sorry for the long wait and this small chapter! I won't make any excuses. I'm sorry that it's short, I needed to get something out to all of you! I hope you enjoyed!
