Blood
THAT'S ALL WE SAW as we stood in the doorway of the room. Blood. Everywhere.
The red liquid coated the walls, the floors, and every item in the room. The one window glowed red, as the light weakly shone through the covered glass.
My breath hitched, and I turned to look at Bev. She was looking at the ground, obviously uncomfortable with even being in the room.
"What the hell happened in here?" I asked softly.
"Do you see it?," she asked cautiously.
"Yes," we all replied in unison, still taking in our surroundings.
"What happened in here?" Bill asked, as the whole group nodded.
"M-my dad couldn't see it," she replied shakily, "I thought that I might be crazy."
"Well if you're crazy, then we're all crazy," Ben uttered quietly.
Bill spoke up slowly, and we all fixed our attention on him, "We c-c-c-can't leave it like this."

We began to clean the room slowly but surely, making the most out of the horrid task. There seemed to be a never ending amount of blood coating the room, but as we worked together, we slowly made our way towards our goal. We each worked on our own spot in the room, increasing the speed at which we were able to finish.
Stan, who was in charge of cleaning the window, made sure to take his time, not letting any inch go uncleaned as he slowly moved the sponge across the window, down about an inch, and back across again. I couldn't help but giggle to myself as I looked over at him cleaning so thoroughly.
He looked over at me, and said sarcastically, "Why don't you take a picture next time? It'll last longer," obviously mocking me from earlier.
"Ha ha ha," I replied slowly, emphasizing each syllable, sending him an unimpressed look.
We continue to clean for what feels like hours, until the room finally turns back into what I would assume was how it looked before. I made my way to the kitchen to return the cleaning supplies, putting them back in the cabinets where they belonged, and making sure nothing appeared to be out of place.
I heard Eddie, Ben, and Stan leave the apartment, and I made my way back to the bathroom to gather more supplies to put away. When I rounded the corner, I saw Bev and Bill facing the window, and making awkward small talk. It was blatantly obvious that they liked each other, and I couldn't help but smile.
I turned back around quietly, trying to leave them alone, and ended up running right into Stan. I tripped, and fell on the ground, laughing quietly to myself.
"Stan, we've really got to stop running into each other like this,", I chuckled, still trying to be quiet.
He winked, helping me up, retorting slyly, "You know you don't mind it though," as I roll my eyes, trying to hide the pink creeping onto my face.
I laughed, making my way towards the exit with Stan trailing behind. I looked down, noticing our fingers were still intertwined. I could feel my heart rate getting faster, and I didn't know why. He's Stan, he's practically my best friend, I couldn't let myself ruin it. Could I?
Even though we had only been reunited a few days ago, it felt like we had never stopped being friends, and I didn't want that to be jeopardized. He was my safety, and I never wanted to lose that.
We made our way back down to Richie, and our bikes, as he was giving Eddie and Ben an earful about how he had been stuck outside for years. I giggled, and Richie, Eddie and Ben looked up. Their eyes quickly wandered down, and I was curious as to what they were staring at.
Stan and I both looked down at the same time, coming to the realization that they were staring at our hands, that just so happened to still be together. I dropped my hand quickly, as did Stan, looking around nervously and hoping they wouldn't think too much of it.
Richie looked smugly between the two of us, and uttered, "ohhhh now I know why it took you guys so long to get here earlier," causing me to practically choke as I realized what he was insinuating.
"What the fuck Richie, stop being so immature," I replied quickly, giving him a death stare as my face began to slowly turn red.
"Yeah, Richie stop being so fucking dumb and get your head out of your ass," Stan replied, obviously annoyed, as he grabbed his bike.
Bill and Bev emerged from the apartment, grabbing their bikes as well, and we began walking our way down the street, with Richie circling us on his bike.
He began to complain once again, "No, I love being your personal doorman. Really, could you idiots have taken any longer?"
Eddie cut him off, very obviously tired of hearing him complain, "Shut up Richie."
Stan chimed in too, still upset about what had been said earlier, "Yeah, shut up Richie."
I did my best to ignore them as we walked down the street, not wanting to hear anymore fighting. I glanced over to the other side of the group, making eye contact with Bev. I smiled, as did she, and I gave her exasperated look, causing her to laugh.
Suddenly, the group stopped walking, and I heard Bill say, "I s-s-saw something too."
I replied slowly, looking at Stan, "I did too."
Stan looked between the two of us, and asked, "y-you saw blood too?"
Bill replied, with Eddie chiming in as well, and the world began to spin in front of me. My breaths began to become more shallow, as the last nights events hit me. I felt the world go black, as I dropped to the ground, and I heard my bike fall too.
"Shit," was the last thing I heard as the world around me faded into darkness.
