Gisela's (P.O.V.)
"Come on, Gisela! Please!" my best friend Jessica was begging me to finally tell my crush I like him. But I don't want to. It would change everything. What if he doesn't feel the same way? I have low enough confidence already. I don't need him to reject me and make it any worse. Besides, I might be better off without boy drama anyways. But that's probably something she wouldn't understand.
"No Jessica! What if he doesn't feel the same? I'll be embarrassed for the rest of my life! Please stop asking." I begged. She asks me to do it almost everyday now. Probably because she's to chicken to do it for herself. I can't imagine her telling her crush, or should I say crushes, how she feels.
"It wouldn't be that bad." my other friend Natalie said. "Even if he says no, you'll find a new boy, and love him more than you can imagine." I rolled my eyes at her statement. She's obviously over exaggerating that. I can't even imagine loving anyone other than Brent... Even though, we haven't really talked much... at all.
"Natalie, it would be that bad! I'll remember it for the rest of my life! It would be horrible! You guys ask me everyday, but I'm not going to change my mind! I'm not going to tell him and that is that! Don't ask me again!" That time, I tried to make sure I made myself clear.
"You don't have to get all upset about it. We'll stop asking if you want." Jessica lied like she always does. I've heard her say that many times, but she always goes back to doing the very same thing the next day. It's a loop that may go on for all eternity, but I accepted her word.
"So anyways!" Jessica blurted, changing the subject quickly. "Have you guys heard of that new kid that should be joining our school soon? Rumors has it, that he's a really bad boy. And you guys know how I like my bad boys." she smiled and winked. I chuckled. It's funny because honestly, she'd like any cute guy. I hope he's unattractive so we can tease her about this later.
"Actually yeah, I've heard the teachers warning each other about him. He has a really bad record. I think I even overheard them saying that he was thrown into jail before!" Natalie warned. "I don't think you should go for him, Jess. That's not the kind of boy I would want to talk to if I were you."
Jessica only rolled her eyes with a grin. Surely she's only concerned about two things when it comes to dating someone; being male, and having good looks. She may sound pretty shallow, but who couldn't love her. She's adorable!
"We'll anyway, he was going to come today but apparently he didn't show up. I've been texting as many kids as I could, asking if he showed up at all, but no one has him in their class yet. I wonder what his schedule is." Jessica added.
"Who knows, Jess. Its only first period. School isn't over yet. He might just be late." I said, pushing her shoulder with mine jokingly. She smiled and pushed me back.
A little past third period, and there was a knock on our classroom door. My crush Brent got up and opened it. I've never seen anyone look so beautiful while opening a door. His hand, gripping and turning. His hair blowing in the wind while it opens. It was as if I was watching in slow motion.
A unfamiliar face welcomed himself in. He must have been that new kid Jessica was talking about. My friends and I automatically looked at each other from across the room and grinned. I looked back at the new guy and realized how cute he actually was. In fact, there is literally no mistaking his good looks. It's the first thing I noticed about him.
"You must be my new third period student." our teacher said to him. He tried to greet him with a handshake but his offer was refused.
"Oh, and you must be my new third period teacher." he said in a smart-aleck tone of voice. He made the class laugh, even though it wasn't funny. He's lucky he's got an easy crowd. This class would laugh at almost anything.
"Very funny, Horan. Now tell me why you're late." the teacher said, calling him by his last name.
So now I get to know one thing about him. The name Jessica will write in her notebook, followed by "Mr. and Mrs." when she fantasizes about him.
"Well, maybe I was late because I wanted to be." he said bratty while practically shoving the late-slip to the teacher.
"Choose an empty seat, Horan. That will be your seat for the rest of the year." the teacher said.
Immediately, my heart started racing. There was a seat next to me and I didn't want him to see it. I felt afraid of him. I mean, I have heard about his bad reputation, so who knows what he will do! I hope he's not the type that gets angry easily. Or the type that throws fits like breaking things or hurting people. I mean, just by looking at him you can tell he's bad! He has tattoos and piercings. Only trouble makers get tattoos in high school!
I watched him while he looked around. He kept looking at a couple empty seats but his eyes didn't stop. Then he reached the one seat next to me. I'm towards the back of the class, and even from there I can see his beautiful blue eyes. He started to walk towards me and from that moment, I knew he chose the seat by me.
He dropped into the seat next to me. Then he turned his head at me. I tried to look away before he could notice me staring, but it was too late. He chuckled quietly. How awkward of me. I felt dumb.
"Hey." he whispered to me with a handsome smile. He was leaning towards me. I turned to look at him, with our faces kinda close. "What's your name?" he asked. Slight chills rushed fast down my spin.
I swallowed hard. My heart was racing. Natalie kinda made me afraid to talk to him. "M-my name is Gisela." I stuttered. The smile grew larger on his face. Although we were already close, he pulled my chair closer to him.
"My name is Niall." he softly said with a pause between his words. "I never heard the name Gisela before." He was looking down at my hands.
"Well... I never heard the name Niall before." I replied. He chuckled and slowly looked back up at me.
"Do you wanna hang out with me after school?" He asked.
"Um... what?" I was surprised he asked me, out of all people. I even doubted if I heard that correctly.
"Never mind, you will." He said, kicking back confidently into his chair.
"Um, no I'm not."
"Um, yeah you are." He said sternly.
"I don't want too."
"Stop arguing or else I'll have to bring you by force. Now be a good girl and do as I say." He said cockily.
I was kinda afraid to say anything else, but I don't know why that didn't stop me. "And what if I don't?" I asked, quickly regretting it.
I watched his mood change way too quickly. "I said your coming with me. That means even if I have to tie you up and drag you!" He shouted. Obviously, he's the type to lose their temper too fast. I feared that.
I quickly scooted back from him terrified, and the rest of the class immediately turned to look at us. For a moment, the whole room was silent, until the teacher asked us what was going on.
"Nothing! Why don't you mind your own fucking business?" Niall shot back at him. The teacher marched to the phone to call the office, and asked Niall to leave. "Gladly!" he replied. He didn't hesitate for a second to head out the door. He unnecessarily pushed people out of the way while doing so. Without forgetting to slam the door behind him. Then I started hearing people talk about us after he left.
I couldn't believe how fast that all went wrong. I'm going to have to be more careful around him now.
