"Faith?""Hmmm"
"Faith wake up!"
"Noo"
"Faith! It's twelve in the afternoon!"
"Ughh fine dad!"
I pull myself off the bed and shiver as my feet came in contact with the ice cold floor.
I make my way to the bathroom and hop on into the shower. It felt worm against my cold skin. After what seemed like hours, I wrap a towel around my naked body and walk towards the mirror. I clear the fog formed on the mirror with my hand.
I look at my reflection: long brown wet hair, pale skin with a little tint of red on the cheeks, green eyes.I look exactly like my mom.
I get out of the bathroom and pick out a pair of tight black leggings and a baggie sweater from the closet and changed into them. I then put on a pair of black boots. I then put on some mascara and lip balm.
I wear my necklace which i wear everyday, it is a gold, rose pendent.
It belonged to my mother. My dad gave it to me on my sixteenth birthday. And I've worn it everyday ever since.Ahh my sixteenth birthday.. just thinking about it makes me smile. Even though it was last year, it feels as if it was years ago. I never liked throwing parties so we had just gone out for dinner. Me, Nick (my ex best friend) and dad; then dad gifted me this beautiful pendent.
Everything has changed since then.
We shifted our home and left our little town behind because my dad just couldn't live with all the memories of my mom around him.
"Everything reminds me of her" he had said when I asked him why we were moving.
I didn't want to move. Even though it was painful, I liked being around her memory, in a way it was like being around her. And my only friend - Nick was there and I didn't want to leave him behind and think of him as a memory too. But I knew it was killing dad. So I didn't argue, I left everything behind.
You ask what happened with me and nick? Let's just say we lost touch..I went down stairs to the kitchen and saw my dad cook breakfast.
"Morning Dad" I said smiling.
"Good morning sweetheart" he said as he turned around from the stove and made this way towards me. He kissed me on the forehead.
"What you making?" I asked leaning against the table to see what's on the stove.
"Pancakes"
"Yummy" i smack my lips together.
He stacked three pancakes in a plate and poured a enormous amount of syrup on it and passed it in my direction.

After eating I told Dad I was going out.
I stepped out of the house, the cold breeze hit my face and I pulled my coat closer to my chest. I made my way towards the park and I could hear the birds singing and dry leaves crushing under my feet. I looked up and saw the bright blue sky with white clouds moving around lazily. Another breeze tickled my face pushing my long hair away, I smiled, I always loved cold weather.
I reached the park and decided to sit on the bench in a corner under the tree. kids were playing and laughing while some guys around my age were in a corner smoking and chatting. I shake my head and pull out a novel from my bag. As i began reading, I couldn't help but look up at the group of teenagers smoking. One of the guys looked at me and smiled. I froze and immediately looked away embarrassed. i didn't want him to come over and start a small talk. I was never really good at making friends. All my life Nick was my only friend, it was easy making friends with him because we were neighbors and our parents were really good friends.
I've been in this town for months now but I still didn't manage to make any friends. It's really hard for me to go talk to someone and start up conversations. School's not been easy either, it's been almost one and a half month since it started and I've still not managed to make any friends. But it's not like i'm even trying...
