the door creaked open and light came through the dimly-lit room, causing taehee to lift her head in surprise. just then, a familiar boy popped his head to peek in the room and his eyes caught his princess whom he held captive in the huge cage.
"ah princess, you're awake! i brought you some food."
he held up a small plastic bag, the aroma of fried chicken filling the room. joshua stepped into the room and walked towards the cage while still holding the bag of food and took his keys out with his free hand. carefully, he inserted the key into the lock's hole and twisted it open. the lock finally unlatched and the boy opened the gate till it was only slightly ajar and placed the food inside the cage. the girl only remained at the other side of the cage, not feeling like touching the food. joshua on the other hand, looked at her with a grin plastered on his face and took out his knife from his pocket then held it up for her to see.
"and don't you dare try to escape, princess. or else, i will kill you."
he let out an eerie laugh which wasn't much like how the old joshua would sound like. taehee only looked at him in fear while gripping the hem of her short black dress and trembling.
"come here, princess."
he ordered her, his psychotic grin still on his face and his left hand gripping his knife. scared of what might happen if she rebels against his orders, she crawled across the cage to him and sat back down. he smiled and stroked her hair and took a strand then smelled it.
"my, oh my, i've always wanted to touch your hair. it smells like vanilla."
he dropped his knife, pulled her closer to him and whispered into her ear,
"of course i won't hurt you, love."
and he kissed the top of her head then wrapped his arms around her small body, which made her flinch but eventually relax in his arms.
