hi, so i figured i'd write a brief explanation/summary of the book and explain my thoughts.

so jennie is constantly pressured by her family to stay perfect, starve, and put up with it because "it happens to everyone". she starts cracking under pressure after her sister gets a modeling deal and begins consuming her mother's migraine pills. falling victim to often fainting, every harsh word her family says is like a painful blow to her heart. she eventually resorts to self harm, and after much chasing and pleading from her sister, she eventually falls to her death.

first of all, i did not mean to romanticize suicide, self harm, or depression in any way. i really hope i didn't because that was my true intention.

the lessons and morals?

ONE, be careful what you say and how you act to loved ones and your friends. every word can have a huge effect no matter how little you think it is.

TWO, severe depression is serious and it is not something to be dealt with by saying 'it's a phase', cause it's not and can sometimes last the majority or all of someone's life.

THREE, suicidal thoughts can overwhelm someone pretty quickly and you need to address someone's emotions the correct and proper way instead of ignoring it.

i want to apologize to readers who were disappointed with the ending, but i did not want to end it in a cliché way where "everything is fine again". trust me, jennie is my ultimate girl bias; i mean no harm. however, not everything ends happily, but in the end, she was able to be freed from the chains that made her miserable.

i have gone through severe depression and are still recovering from it. i want any of readers who are going through the same thing to know that you are not fighting this battle by yourself. if something really tough is going on in your life and you're experiencing difficult situations, please call 1-800-273-8255 for the u.s., (02) 8969191 or 0917 854 9191 for the philippines, or please search up the suicide hotline in your country online.

please also remember that if you need someone to talk to, i am always open for any one on one private conversations. i love you all so much and you are all so precious. please remember that there is so much waiting ahead of you and that you are perfect in every way possible! i beg you, please, please, give the future a chance and please seek professional help; it can and will help you to recover. please.

on a final note, i hope this story is something that you can please learn from and remember. thank you, and please remember, you never fight this tough war alone.
