    June 1st

The weather outside was changing dramatically. It was clear skies today from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. During that time Jack and I were in the Game Room again watching the news about the strange lights over the pyramids again but was not mentioned at all. Once we left and headed back to our room it was beginning to get cloudy and dark. The sun was now gone and covered by 5:00 PM, the sound of rain hitting the windows and the sharp loud crack of thunder starting to get closer and closer to the Winchester. That was something rare we would get here. It was mostly sunny and a bit of a breeze. This odd weather was strange to have in June we would usually get this weather in the fall and winter.

The flash of lightning lit up our room from the window followed by more intense rain hitting as well. Jack laid on his bed finishing reading his comic book with one headphone in his ear listening to music from his old MP3 player with the desk lamp on beside him. I stood sitting up on my bed finishing Jack's Rubiks Cube. I was a little dry on how to finish one I tried remembering the pattern I did when having one of these Rubik's Cubes with I was younger but I completely forgot. I played around with it for a couple of minutes than I finished the first white layer than suddenly it was drawn back to me. Layer by layer I remembered one my dad taught me. A pattern which was the third row move up, the first row up, twist the first layer to the right, turn the cube to a different row, move the third row up, the first row down, rotate the cube the other way, then the third row down, the first row up,first layer rotate right, rotate again, move the third row up two times, twist the first layer right two times, first row down two times, third row two times up again, rotated the first layer twice to the right, then the first row two times down. I completed it successfully.

Placing it on the drawer table with relief and accomplishment. Thank you, dad I said in my head. Jack stopped what he was reading and examined the Rubik's Cube. "Nice! Took a while but still impressive. You remembered a pattern?" Jack said approvingly "Yeah I had one I learned but I forgot it but I faintly remembered one my dad taught me once before and it worked."

"That's tight," replied Jack.

As there was a sudden knock on the door. Jack paused his music and looked at me and asked If I was expecting someone. I shook my head in disagreement. Jack got up and placed his mp3 on the bed and went to open the door. He opened the door and was greeted by one of Chester's co-workers from the downstairs office. I couldn't see the person since the door was blocking them but from the voice, I knew it was Karen from the front office. She was a sweet caucasian lady about forty with a slim body and her blonde hair tied up in a ponytail and thick black glasses Jack was handed and Karen quickly came in and waved hi at me before she left downstairs. He shut the door behind him and examined the envelope in front of him. "Who is that from?" I asked Jack.

"That creepy guy Chester, It's for you apparently from the look of the envelope it's probably an appointment meeting with him in his office. You also have this envelope from CubeStorage?" Jack said shaking his head as he handed me the letters and sat back down on his bed. "I had one letter from Chester two weeks ago. They handed me the exact letter, he just told me I needed to keep track of my chores around here or else I'll get thrown out and called me a worthless piece of shit."Jack said.

Chester was an evil human being and knew how to get under your skin by calling you names and making feel worthless. But no one had evidence he was mentally abusing the kids here everyone had their mouths shut just cause of a decent paycheck they don't want to lose their job. Especially in a town where a job hiring is rare to find. I opened the envelope of Chester's and read the letter that was inside out loud.
