As you were walking down the street, you look at a store. You always felt a mix of feelings when you walked past that store. Since today was your birthday today, you felt extra mixed feelings-y. Considering, it did happen on your birthday. That was a couple years ago, though.
You shook it off. You literally shook your head to try to get it out of the mind of yours. You walked pass the store that held some memories of the past. You were sent out by your father to get groceries. When you got to the store you liked buying from, you walked in. You stood at the doorway for a good 5 seconds, before you actually went into the store.
You got fruit, vegetables, and other stuff, including some snacks of your choice. After that stuff, you went home, gave the food to your daddy, and left to go for a walk. You thought you needed time to get a break from everything for a bit.
As you walked down the streets, you heard mean stuff like:
"It's the monster!"
"Run away, it's Gaara!"
"Don't let him get you!"
You stopped, frozen in your position. 'They say he's a monster, to run away, not to let him get you. What kind of horror movie is this suppose to be?! ...It's not one! That proves one thing: He is NOT a monster,' you think angrily to yourself. You run to the sound of a piercing scream. Seriously, if that scream were to be a blade, it'd slice you in half with you just looking at it.
You stop at least a meter away. You could see a young red-haired boy. He seemed to be attacking some other children. You think, 'I can't judge him. Daddy says I know his name, not his story.' You look to him. His blue eyes seemed to be full of pain and suffering. 'He's been through stuff similar to what I have,' you thought.
You ran closer to the red-haired boy. You say, "St-stop!" You ran in front of the blue-eyed, red-headed boy, before he could reach the girl's leg. He looked to you and asks, "Who are you suppose to be?" He sounded confused at your bravery and interested at who you are, because of your bravery. You say, "I-I'm...Okami, (Y/n). Nice to m-meet you..."
He says, "Gaara." You ask, "Why do they run from you?" Gaara says, "The sand. It protects me and fends off others, like it or not." You say, "That's...cool, really." He stares at you as you look at your feet. Your right foot is on its ball, swaying back in forth.
You say, "Today's my birthday." He says, "I...I could get you a present." You look to him, surprised. You say, "I haven't gotten a present from a fr-frien-d... a friend, before." Gaara laughs and asks, "What's with sounding out the word?" You look down to the ground. Then, you say, "I've always had a hard time saying certain words." He says, "Oh!" You look to the sky, covering your eyes with your wrist in between your brows. Then, you tell him, "I'm s-so-sorry, Gaara, but I have to get home before noon."
